Data from an Excel table is limited by the current filter that someone has applied to the excel sheet.

Hi Guys,

I have some data in a Gallery, however it ONLY shows what is being shown in the current excel sheet based on the filters in the sheet.

Is it possible to get powerapps to ignore the filters that people have set on a table in excel?

Painful having to go into the excel sheet and manually remove the filters all the time.

Hi @Linksus ,

Using Excel as a data source ( a terrible one at that), you should only be relying on the data in a formatted table, not anything else you may have done at an Excel level such as filters and calculated fields. I suggest you get rid of the Excel filters as the sheet cannot be open in Excel and Power Apps at the same time anyway and writing anything directly in Excel, particularly new records will affect what Power Apps can query.

Hmm, Not sure i was clear on the question..

So we have an existing excel sheet. with lots of stuff on it.
I'm using powerapps to make sense of a lot of it. However if a user leave a filter on the sheet, it affects what powerapps sees...

I do understand excel is not a great source (but its the only option in this case)

Im guessing there is no way to tell powerapps to ignore any user set filters within excel when it retrieves the table data?

I was thinking a pivot table would help, but appears that PowerApps doesn't support that. Hmm
Guess what im trying to achieve is just outside of its capability.

My understanding is that the answer is no (Excel as a data source should be confined to a simple table with the raw data you want to work with - and even then, you have limitations that do not exist in data source such as SharePoint)
