DataCards not Resetting In Edit Mode

I have researched this issue on the forum, but none of the replies I found relate to me.

Looking for help for OnChange and Reset. Have an app with branching, and if I change the top level choice, I want all the lower levels to go back to blank.  It is working when a New From is created, and the formula for OnChange is Reset(datacardvalue1) && Reset(datacardvalue2).... 

But when I go back to Edit a form, it's not working.  In the Canvas, how to I get to the Edit Form mode so I update the OnChange?  

My Form's DefaultMode is varFormMode and the Item is varFormRecord.  I am using these variables in order for the Gallery and 4 screens each with their own form, and a patch function to work.  That issue was resolved months ago, so I am not changing anything there.

How can I get the lower selections to disappear when in EditMode?

THe issue is not with the Reset or OnChange properties, but with the Default properties: when editing an item, this property is used to set the value of the control when resetting it. In case it is set to Parent.Default, it will grab the value of the selected item. 

So, if you want this to be blank in case a change is made in another control, you'll have to incorporate something in that property. The thing that comes to mind is to compare the value of the "parent control" with the value for the corresponding field in the item that is being edited. For instance, the Default property of the DataCardValue in the SubCategory field, which is dependent on the Category field (containing DataCardValue1), would look like this:

Unfortunately I can't, due to the nature of my work.  And i tried several scenarios for the formula, not just one.
