Hi!
I'd like to know if it's possible to do this.
I start the date picker blank -
When they click on the calendar icon I'd like to have the initial month to be month+1 and not current month.
If I click on it now
But I'd like it to be
Is it possible?
Thank you.
Thanks!
I was dumb, I used the Set(<var1>, <CurrentDate>) to the + button onSelect and to the tile if it's an edit.
Set(A,1);
Navigate(DetailScreen1, ScreenTransition.None)
Soon enough, I'll tell you if it works or not, but it looks promising 😄
This is not allowed
Set(Self.SelectedDate, VarPreviousDate)
I'm trying this but without success still:
If(Day(Today()) < 20,
If(Month(Self.SelectedDate) = Month(DateAdd(Today(), 1, TimeUnit.Months)),
Set(_varET1, Self.SelectedDate);
DateValue1.SelectedDate = _varET1;
true,
Notify(Concatenate("Please select a date in ", LblAppName1.Text), NotificationType.Error);
DateValue1.SelectedDate = _varET1;
false
),
If(Month(Self.SelectedDate) = Month(DateAdd(Today(), 2, TimeUnit.Months)),
Set(_varET1, Self.SelectedDate);
DateValue1.SelectedDate = _varET1;
true,
Notify(Concatenate("Please select a date in ", LblAppName1.Text), NotificationType.Error);
DateValue1.SelectedDate = _varET1;
false
)
)
The las bit is setting the value back and it will work fine.
So close!
It appears that you are trying to set the selected date back to a previous value when certain conditions are not met. Let's simplify the logic and ensure the correct usage of variables:
If(
(Day(Today()) < 20 && Month(Self.SelectedDate) = Month(DateAdd(Today(), 1, TimeUnit.Months))) ||
(Day(Today()) >= 20 && Month(Self.SelectedDate) = Month(DateAdd(Today(), 2, TimeUnit.Months))),
true,
Notify(Concatenate("Please select a date in ", LblAppName1.Text), NotificationType.Error);
Set(_varPrevDate, DateValue1.SelectedDate);
DateValue1.SelectedDate = _varPrevDate;
false
)
In this revised code:
- I'm using a single 'If' statement with an OR condition to cover both cases.
- I've removed redundant 'Set' statements and only set '_varPrevDate' once.
- I've set 'DateValue1.SelectedDate' to '_varPrevDate' when the condition is not met.
Please ensure that you've declared '_varPrevDate' as a variable. This should handle the logic more effectively.
Tips:
- 'Self.SelectedDate': This refers to the selected date within the context of the control where the formula is used. For example, if you are using this formula within a date picker control, 'Self.SelectedDate' will refer to the selected date within that specific date picker control.
- 'Datepicker1.SelectedDate': This refers to the selected date within the specific date picker control named "Datepicker1". It explicitly references the selected date property of the "Datepicker1" control.
Both expressions are used to retrieve the selected date from a date picker control, with 'Self.SelectedDate' being more generic and context-dependent, and 'Datepicker1.SelectedDate' being explicitly tied to a specific date picker control named "Datepicker1".
Thanks!!!

Hey, almost there.
The code I have changed slightly, we need to set the variable when it's true, not false.
But setting the selecteddate back to the variable is not working, please check the gif
If(
(Day(Today()) < 20 && Month(Self.SelectedDate) = Month(DateAdd(Today(), 1, TimeUnit.Months))) ||
(Day(Today()) >= 20 && Month(Self.SelectedDate) = Month(DateAdd(Today(), 2, TimeUnit.Months))),
true;
Set(_varET1, DateValue1.SelectedDate),
Notify(Concatenate("Please select a date in ", LblAppName1.Text), NotificationType.Error);
DateValue1.SelectedDate = _varET1;
false
)
Here you can see that the notification error shows fine, but the date won't switch back.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that the text label at the top is the var previous date, or in my code _varET1
Thanks again, you are being awesome!
Hi @PaoloBM ,
It seems that the 'Set' function is not working as expected inside the 'If' function when setting the variable '_varET1'. To address this, you can use the 'UpdateContext' function to set the variable.
If(
(Day(Today()) < 20 && Month(Self.SelectedDate) = Month(DateAdd(Today(), 1, TimeUnit.Months))) ||
(Day(Today()) >= 20 && Month(Self.SelectedDate) = Month(DateAdd(Today(), 2, TimeUnit.Months))),
UpdateContext({ _varET1: DateValue1.SelectedDate });
true,
Notify(Concatenate("Please select a date in ", LblAppName1.Text), NotificationType.Error);
UpdateContext({ _varET1: DateValue1.SelectedDate });
false
)
I replaced 'Set' with 'UpdateContext' to set the variable '_varET1'. I used semicolons (';') to separate multiple expressions within the 'If' function. This should resolve the issue and properly set the '_varET1' variable based on the conditions. Please give it a try and let me know if it works as expected.
Thanks!!!

Hey, it's not the variable not updating, it's the field.
The variable holds the correct value, although the datepicker won't update with the variable.
Self.SelectedDate = _varET1; => this is not working.
Hi @PaoloBM ,
Based on my understanding, It seems like you want to prevent the 'DatePicker' from displaying the selected date if the condition is not met and, instead, either keep it blank or reset it to the previous value.
I have adjusted the code accordingly,
If(
(Day(Today()) < 20 && Month(Self.SelectedDate) = Month(DateAdd(Today(), 1, TimeUnit.Months))) ||
(Day(Today()) >= 20 && Month(Self.SelectedDate) = Month(DateAdd(Today(), 2, TimeUnit.Months))),
true,
Notify(Concatenate("Please select a date in ", LblAppName1.Text), NotificationType.Error);
Set(_varET1, DateValue1.SelectedDate);
UpdateContext({ SetDatePicker: true });
false
)
Here, I introduced a 'SetDatePicker' context variable. You can use this variable to control the visibility or reset the 'DatePicker' in the 'OnChange' property of the 'DatePicker' control:
If(SetDatePicker, Set(DateValue1.SelectedDate, _varET1); SetDatePicker, true)
This way, if the condition is not met, it won't update the 'DatePicker' with the selected date, and you can manage whether to keep it blank or reset it to the previous value. As always adjust the code to your convenience.
Thanks!!!

Hey,
Maybe I'm doing something wrong since the beginning, correct me if I'm wrong please.
I was adding the code (if day <20 etc) into the datepicker > onChange property.
I got confused because you asked me to add the below code inside the onchange.
If(SetDatePicker, Set(DateValue1.SelectedDate, _varET1); SetDatePicker, true)
Should the onchange property have both codes in there like this?
If(
(Day(Today()) < 20 && Month(Self.SelectedDate) = Month(DateAdd(Today(), 1, TimeUnit.Months))) ||
(Day(Today()) >= 20 && Month(Self.SelectedDate) = Month(DateAdd(Today(), 2, TimeUnit.Months))),
true,
Notify(Concatenate("Please select a date in ", LblAppName1.Text), NotificationType.Error);
Set(_varET1, DateValue1.SelectedDate);
UpdateContext({ SetDatePicker: true });
false
);
If(SetDatePicker, Set(DateValue1.SelectedDate, _varET1); SetDatePicker, true)
Or get the if day into another property?
Thanks!
Hi @PaoloBM ,
You don't necessarily need both pieces of code in the 'OnChange' property, but rather they work together.
If(
(Day(Today()) < 20 && Month(Self.SelectedDate) = Month(DateAdd(Today(), 1, TimeUnit.Months))) ||
(Day(Today()) >= 20 && Month(Self.SelectedDate) = Month(DateAdd(Today(), 2, TimeUnit.Months))),
// Condition is met
true,
// Condition is not met
Notify(Concatenate("Please select a date in ", LblAppName1.Text), NotificationType.Error);
Set(_varET1, DateValue1.SelectedDate);
UpdateContext({ SetDatePicker: true });
false
);
// Reset or keep DatePicker based on SetDatePicker
If(SetDatePicker, Set(DateValue1.SelectedDate, _varET1); SetDatePicker, true)
This way, the 'DatePicker' behavior is controlled based on the conditions you've set. The 'If(SetDatePicker, Set(DateValue1.SelectedDate, _varET1); SetDatePicker, true)' code comes after your existing code in the 'OnChange' property. It ensures that if 'SetDatePicker' is true, it sets the 'DatePicker' value to '_varET1', otherwise, it keeps it as is ('true' is a placeholder for what you want to do in case 'SetDatePicker' is false).
So, to clarify, the entire code block should be placed in the 'OnChange' property of the 'DatePicker'.
Thanks!!!
