Display SP list with numbering

Good day everyone!

I have Sp list named "ABC LESSON LEARNED" and have multiple columns, one of the columns titled "Recommendation", sometimes there will be more than 1 recommendation per row, so i numbered the recommendations (refer figure below)

lunalovegood_0-1696551744514.png

but when i call the column and display it in powerapps, the powerapps reads the row as plain text (refer figure below),

lunalovegood_1-1696552011189.png
btw, i display it using html text.
by any chance, can anyone help me to figure out how can i display the recommendation column sequentially .

Thank you so much for the help !

Hi @lunalovegood

Is the column a Multi line Regular Text or is it Multiline Rich Text (probably this one?)

And is it a Table. You said you display it with HTML Text, but you didn't specific with what.

Lastly, what type of control are you using to display is it the HTML Text Control? If not then use this and it should show up fine as long as you have it, how I talk about in my next point.

My answer would be this. If you created the HTML as a Table, where each one was a row, it technically would be in sequential order, however, depending on how wide they are etc and the form its possible they wouldnt always line up. They SHOULD, as long as your Table TR and TD have the text aligned to the left.

That is what I would do.

Hi @lunalovegood

Thank you for sharing that made it make perfect sense as to why its happening

The issue being that if you just had 1 item, per recommendation they would line up, but we have to split your Recommendation text, not just place it in the HTML Text property

We need to find something we can split it on, do you have any ideas? Or, is this live yet? Could we change how the Recommendations are put in so that not only would it have a number, but it needs something at the end of each recommendation to split on (when there are more than 1 per row).

So like

1 My Text@@@My Next Text@@@

So we could split on

That or you have something already like a carriage return ? or something?

you mean that  i need to do modification on SP list is it ?

Hi @lunalovegood

I am asking how are the Recommendations created and saved into the List?

So I guess the answer is, yes, kind of. There is no way to really help you do what you want, if you have multiple things in there and have no way to split the values into individual strings so they can be put in a Table (per row) or at least add carriage returns in the data.

can you explain more about add carriage returns in the data?

i just notice that in my html code , i use concat() function that will join multiple strings together, so im guessing that's the reason why , i think i need to use function that will directly call the column without changing the format of the column
