Hi,
So I am looking to try have a View Icon and a Text Label setup, so that the View Icon is initially displayed to the user, hiding the text behind it. But when the user clicks the View Icon, this then displays the text where the view icon was and makes the view icon visible false. I also want the text to display for 2 seconds before disappearing and returning back to the View Icon and only reappear for 2 seconds when the user re-click/triggers the onselect property of the View Icon.
So i have managed to successfully get the View Icon to display true when the Label is false and vice versa. And i did find another article about showing and hiding text based on a timer, which got me close but this displays the text and then hides it on a loop once started. What i need is it to display for 2 seconds and then disappear and only reappear when the View Icon is re-selected.
What i have so far;
View Icon
Onselect Property = UpdateContext({ShowNetPay:true})
Visible Property = If(Lbl_NetPay.Visible=true,false,true)
Lbl_NetPay Label
Onselect Property =Navigate(ViewPayslip);UpdateContext({ShowNetPay:false})
Visible Property =If(ShowNetPay=true,Mod(RoundDown(Timer.Value/2000,0),2)=1,false)
If someone could help me figure out how to get the timer to stop after displaying for 2 seconds but not reappear on a loop and only re-trigger when the view icon is re-selected that would be great.
Kind Regards
Reece
On the timer control make sure auto repeat is off. You want the timer to be triggered by your variable so change th start property of the timer and this will solve it.

Hello,
Add a timer, and then put this in your visible property of the item you want to show for 2 seconds
Mod(RoundDown(Timer1.Value/2000;0);2)=1
Set the timer to only run for 4 seconds. That means the label will show for 2 seconds, and then be hidden again.
I would use an additional variable "varTimerIsRunning" in your case.
You set this to True for the "onStart" of the timer and to false for the "onStop" of the timer.
With this your problem should be solved, if not ask again.
With this you can also debug your scenario better. Just create a textbox with the "varTimerIsRunning" as text. Then you can see if it switches correctly here.
@superfliege & @StretchFredrik Thanks. With the combined advice, I have reduced the timer length to 4 Seconds and created a Variable which i have added to the Start and End of the Timer. So now the timer Starts when i select the View Icon and then displays the text for 2 seconds, however the only thing i am missing now is that the text is display after 2 seconds for 2 seconds. I would ideally like the text to show at the point of selecting so on the 0 or 1 second of the timer starting (as close to instant as possible) display for 2 seconds then turn off.
Is their a way i can make the 2 second display from the start of the time and then reduce the time duration to 2 seconds. I tried reducing it to 2 seconds, but all that does is mean that when it gets to 2 seconds it displays the text but because it ends at this point it leaves the text displayed. So i need to understand how to get the 2 seconds to trigger and not wait.
Thanks
Reece
