DropDown not updating

Thank you for taking the time to read my question.

I have a Drop Down in a data card in my Edit form with the first value being "SELECT". I have to change languages between English and French for my app and have a toggle that allows the user to do so at will.

When they toggle I run a Patch() to change "SELECT" to French from English or vice versa. The collection (that is the items of the Drop Down) is being updated correctly, but the Drop Down does not reflect the change made to the collection. "SELECT" is the first value shown in the Drop Down.

What do I need to do so that the Drop Down shows the changes made to the underlying collection.

Note: the rest of the values in the Drop Down are names which are not translated.

Note 2: The Default value of the Drop Down is set to ThisRecord... however the form mode is "New"

Update: I actually have 2 Drop Downs... I kept toggling en to fr and back to en... then all of a sudden one started working and the other is not... very random

@iwonder could there be some difference in properties between both dropdowns?
I tried recreating the issue on my end, but the dropdown list updated instantly.

Thank you so much for your reply. No difference... now all of a sudden the second one is refreshing but the first one is not...

"Have you tried turning it off and on again?"... may be my next step.

... I guess I have to post this but the problem... is me. My mistake. I have two collections as the source of my drop down. Depending on a different toggle, the source changes. I forgot to update the other collection... I hope no one reads this 😉

Data validation does not play nice with Table references. There are a couple of options to overcome this:

1) Named Range : Create a named range that references the Column - For example if your Table is named "Table1" and the column is "Values", create a Named Range called "DDList" that refers to "=Table1[Values]" and use DDList in the Data Validation

2) Use the INDIRECT function in the Data Validation dialog by typing in "=INDIRECT(
"Table1[Values]") in the dialog box when you select the list option.
