Dropdowns not showing items from choices column

I have a powerapps form from sharepoint that is not showing the choices. I have other dropdowns in the form that doing look at the choices column that are working. The dropdown that I am having issues with suddenly work when I'm previewing the form in make.powerapps.com. I'm not sure how else to convey this issue or how to troubleshoot it. Has anyone else seen an issue like this?

@Henryed07 @JohannaM @Axford_Clare The fix for missing items in ComboBox drop-downs has been deployed to all production regions with Studio release 3.19101.  You will need to edit and re-publish your app(s) for the changes to take effect.

Hi @alietzau ,

Can you please check your Dropdown control's Items() Property and set it to:

Choices(DataSource.ChoiceColumn)

Best of luck!

Hi @alietzau ,

Could you please share a bit more about your issue?

Do you mean that the Choice Dropdown box could not work when your app is in Player mode?

Based on the issue that you mentioned, I have made a test on my side, and don't have the issue that you mentioned. If you create a custom form in your SP list using PowerApps, please consider remove the custom form from your SP list, then re-create a new one for it, check if the issue is solved.

If you create a standalone canvas app based on your SP List, pease make sure the Items property of the ComboBox control you are having issues within your Edit form is set to to following formula:

Choices('YourSPList'.ChoiceColumn)

If the issue still exists, please consider re-generate a new app based on your SP list, check if the issue is fixed.

Hi All,

I tried working on the form. When I added another card to the form and published it, all of a sudden the dropdowns started to work again. I'm not sure what was causing the issue but it's been resolved now. I wish I could have had a direct solution for this issue in case someone else has it in the future.

Hello,

I raised this issue over 2 weeks ago within the community and still have the same issue with no response from anyone from MS.

This is happening throughout our environment at different times for no apparent reason. The choice columns either completely fail or we have a long 'code' appear in the drop down regarding the connection of the choice column.

PLEASE , this needs to be looked into immediately !!!!

@v-xida-msft  , No my problem is not solved !!!

It hasn't even been looked into or responded too!

@Anonymous, is the issue that you're having where none of the dropdowns work, and then you open the app and the dropdowns have an error? I've seen this happen a couple times too.

Hi @alietzau

Exactly the problem! Worst of all, I can't get them to reconnect again after they have done this without any warning!

@Anonymous The couple times that I've seen this I've had to refresh the datasource (View -> Data Sources -> "..." -> Refresh). After doing that, I've republished it and then it works again. I don't know why it didn't work right away when I was dealing with it for this post, but it took another publishing for it to finally work.

I wish there was a better way to resolve this, I'm not even really sure what the cause is. If this keeps happening, it's going to be hard to maintain.
