Edit custom form with a Gallery

I have a custom for with a gallery at the bottom. The source is a SharePoint list for both. The gallery filters on one column "entry type". The top portion of my for is entry type Primary. The gallery is filtered on the other entry types - Power, Network, KVM. On edit I can edit the top portion - Primary but not anything in the gallery. I'm thinking its something in the "OnEdit" I need to add. I'm still learning PowerApps so any help would be much appreciated.

Could you please share more details about your scenario? Is that Gallery in or out of the form? What do you mean by "On edit I can edit the top portion - Primary but not anything in the gallery"? I can see text inputs in the Gallery and all of them are editable.

The gallery in in the form. The sharepoint list looks like this:

SharePoint list example - 

Device Name         Entry Type      Data1     Data2   .....

Server1                  Primary           1234       abcd

Server1                  Network          Eth1        Switch4

Server1                  Power             UPS2       Port8

Server8                  Primary           5678       efgh

Server8                  Network          Eth2        Switch2

Server8                  Power               UPS6       Port5

There are many more columns but I only need to focus on the Device Name and the Entry type. The top portion of the form is for the primary entry of the device name. The gallery is filtered on the other entry types. I got help here to make that work. When I bring up a device name to edit the form fields i can edit. The gallery part i can not.  In the form setup the Screen is set to edit and the gallery is too. I metioned the "On Edit" thinking I need to put something more in there.

I appriciate any help on this. It's almost working they way I need it to.

Hi @wlyttle ,

Apparently the Gallery is below not inside the Edit form. If you need to change display mode of the Gallery, you will have to set DisplayMode property of the Gallery based on the DefaultMode of the Edit form:

If(Editform.Mode = FormMode.Edit,
   DisplayMode.Edit,
   DisplayMode.View
)

In the Gallery, the DisplayMode property of all Controls that need to edit (type in, select etc.) need change to:

Parent.DisplayMode

in order to make them be consistent with the Gallery.

Back to your scenario, I think the issue is: you are able to type in in the Gallery but nothing will be submitted to the SP list, am I right?

Thanks - That helped a lot. I was inserting a text label not Text input in the gallery. Now i can edit those fields but cannot save them. Can you help with that part too. I guess its going to be an On Save formula.

Hi @wlyttle ,

You can save the Gallery OnSave:

ForAll(TheGallery.AllItems, Patch(YourList, ThisRecord, {Column1: TextInput1.Text, Column2: TextInput2.Text, ...})

But honestly, if there are not many field will be modified, I would prefer to use OnChange of each TextInputs to save the changes directly to the source:

Patch(YourList, ThisItem, {CorrespondingColumn: Self.Text})
