Filter Gallery Concat by Dropdown Selection from Separate Collection

I'm trying to use a drop down to let users filter a project list sourced from a SharePoint List.   The trick is, the i need to display name derived from a Concat to do it.  The goal is to have a user come in, find their name and only see projects assigned to them.

Are you saying you have lists in both the drop-down and data source of email addresses separated by ";" and you want to find any email address in the top drop-down that exisst in any email address in the List field ? If so, what are the names of the List, List field and drop-down and what is the Items of the drop-down ?

Hi Warren,

Two data sources:  1)  Dropdown is a collection based on a SharePoint group membership.  2) SharePoint list of projects ('ODGT Portfolio Tracker') populates the Gallery.  I want to allow a user to select a display name in the dropdown and have the gallery filtered accordingly.  The gallery doesn't actually have the display name for the "Assign to" data point, because I need multiple entries which creates delegation issues.  I do wonder if Collection is necessary, or if the dropdown could be populated by the Concat from the same 'ODGT Portfolio Tracker' data sources as the gallery.

OK - I need to still properly understand the structure - so can I assume

• The Items of the drop-down contains a List of Person fields displaying the DisplayName, but has the Email available in the Table
• The control is a Drop-down  or single selection Combo Box.
• The field in the data source is a list of email addresses separated by ";"
• You want to search this field filtering any records containing the email selected in the drop down.

If so, you still have a Delegation issue as the in filter is necessary, but I can provide some code.

1) Yes, for the drop-down the Items include all element of the persons fields, including Email.  

2)  Conceptually, yes the drop-down is the control.  I haven't been able to add any code the that affect though.  

3)  The data source is a list of projects.  To render the email address (Task Assigned To field) I needed to Concat.  

4) Yes, the only items I'd like to show up after using the dropdown are those with the selected email.  

I tried this on the Gallery Items and it does apply the filter, but doesn't display any entries with more than a single assignment.      

Filter(ODGTProjects,Concat('Task Assigned To',Email & "")=Dropdown1.Selected.mail)

   DGTProjects,
   Dropdown1.Selected.mail in 'Task Assigned To'.Email
)
