Hello!
I have a power app with a gallery and an edit form that are connected to a share point list. The gallery has multiple filters based on conditions, they work fine. I have a button to delete the date value from the share point list, but it works if I turn on the Formula-level Management on, in the settings. But I noticed that turning it on makes the filters not working. Did anyone else have this problem? Why is this happening? And is there a way to delete date values from the share point list without the Formula-level management on?
Thank you!
Hi @1392022_rowep.
The Formula-level error management setting should not affect the capability of a gallery to be filtered, or a record to not be deleted/altered from a data source. This setting only enables some error handling functions as IfError(), IsError() and OnError property.
In order to help you, I might need some extra information:

Hi, @FernandoTC !
1. I want to set the date value to blank/null. It's like a reset, when I press the button I want to clear the data from the date field.
2. The code for the Items property of the gallery is:
If(
Or(
varManager1 = true,
varManager2 = true
),
Filter(
'SharePointList',
'IDColumn' = varIDColumn
),
Filter(
'SharePointList',
And(
'IDColumn' = varIDColumn,
Or(
And(
'ChoiceColumn1'.Value = "Yes",
'ChoiceColumn2'.Value = "Yes"
),
CreatorColumn = varActiveUser
)
)
)
)
This are the filters applied, the variables store PowerBI Integration Data, the active user is a property from PowerBi.
And for the OnSelect property of the button I have a big code, but I used this method I found:
https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Power-Apps/Clear-date-value/td-p/678485
Only thing is that when I turn on the Formula-level error management, I can clear the date field, but the filters on the gallery do not work, I can't see the items in the gallery anymore, as the creator of the item I should be able to see them because I set the filters to do so and they work when that feature is off, and when it's on they don't work anymore.
If you read further within the thread you are using, once you turn on the Formula-level error management setting there is no need for using a "Reset" button for the datepicker. You can just delete the date displayed in the datepicker, submit the form, and th edate will be set to null, so maybe you'll prefer doing this instead of adding the button.
However, this wont solve your filter problem, as you still need the setting to be on. I guess you already did, but check if those variables you are using are the correct data type and are being set with valid values.
Regarding the filter, this might not solve directly your problem but I think it simplifies the code and may help you keeping the code clean of errors. Usually I don't like setting the items propery of a gallery in the format:
If(condition, 'Datasource1','Datasource2')
Most of the times you can transfer the condition to the filter clauses. In your case, your filter will look like this:
Filter(
'SharePointList',
'IDColumn'=varIDColumn,
OR(
AND(
'ChoiceColumn1'.Value = "Yes",
'ChoiceColumn2'.Value = "Yes"
),
CreatorColumn = varActiveUser,
OR(
varManager1 = true,
varManager2 = true
)
)
)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but you want your filter to:
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Try to put that code above in the items property of your gallery. Maybe it might solve the problem.
Regards
Thank you for your response, @FernandoTC ! I couldn't resolve my problem, so I just hid the date field in the app instead of deleting the date value. It's not perfect, but it's good enough since what happens in the share point list is more of "behind the scenes" so the users won't be affected. I used your optimization of the filters and it is indeed better than my code so thank you very much for that!
