Flow().RUN Error - Connection not configured for this service

Hi,

A couple of users are getting the below error upon clicking a Power App button, which triggers a flow: "Flow().RUN Error - Connection not configured for this service", resulting in the flow not running. However, this works for me and my team as admins, which indicates a permission issue.

Strangely, the same user can successfully trigger the flow from my Dev environment, which is a "Sandbox" environment; however, this doesn't work in the live environment ("Production").

Upon reading multiple threads, it seems that the fix is to amend a setting (link is Here ); however, when I locate this, I get the below message at the top of my screen: 
The Basic User role privileges cannot be adjusted due to its non-customizable nature. The "Process" table shows "User" under "Read" and I'm unable to amend this setting.

It would be a great shame to not use flows on button clicks as they're super powerful; however, currently I'm having to trigger my flow(s) based on SharePoint triggers instead (which can take up to 1 minute to trigger).

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Jamie

Hi @JamieLivingston , I would suggest to create a security group in AAD. This security group will have all members who will access the app. Now in Power Platform admin center there is Teams concept. PFB screenshot:

Create one Teams using this new security group and assign the New Basic User Security role to that newly created Teams. So with this whoever have access to app will be member of group and security point of view also, you donot have to assign this new role to all user in your org.

HI @JamieLivingston , To resolve the issue, you need to make sure that the user who is running the flow has Basic User Security role assigned.

However, the Basic security role cannot be customized because now Microsoft had made this security role as non editable.

So, as a workaround, basically you need to replicate the Basic User security role and you can do that by using below steps:

  1. When you are in Power Platform Admin Center, click on Environment that you have the issue.
  2. Then click on Security Roles as shown below:
  3. ANB_1-1696870471048.png
  4. Then click on basic user security role.
  5. Copy security role as shown below:
  6. ANB_0-1696870432583.png

  7. Give the new name as New Basic User and click Copy as shown below:
  8. ANB_2-1696870572502.png

  9. Then follow the article that you mention in your query.
  10. Assign this newly created Security Role to user who is facing this issue.

I hope this helps.

Hi ANB,

I did that; however, it only worked for the user once I added her as a Member to the "New Basic User". Do I need to add every user who potentially will ever run a flow based on a button click? Also, what would be the issue with granting all users within my organisation (as I wouldn't want to add/remove people manually moving forward)? Would this cause any security issues?

Thanks,

Jamie
