How can I get a gallery to list the items in a row rather than a column?

I can perform a LookUp to get the row that I want, but how do I get the gallery to list all of the items in a row so that it can be scrollable?

You can just add any field you want to the first Gallery entry, making it as large as you need. You can just copy an existing field and change the data it shows. You would really not even need a Gallery for this, but it would technically be fine.

I know what you're saying, but how would I make it scrollable so that it shows all of the fields?

The gallery will automatically put a scroller in it when the data expands beyond the bottom of the galley

OK, so I've copied the field that was there and changed the data it points to.  It's gone from ThisItem.Step001 to ThisItemStep002.

This is still contained within the gallery template size, which I now need to enlarge to make it show the additional field. I can't paste it outside of the gallery template as it is still the same item, just a different field of it.

You just need to enlarge the Gallery template to whatever size you want.

Just grab the "handle" circled in red and drag it down to whatever size you want.

Can we start over?

I have a list for a maintenance schedule, some of the items can have over 100 steps.

In the table, the x axis is the steps in the maintenance activity and the y axis is the maintenance activity name.

Similar to SortByColumns, which would show every step-n for all of the maintenance activites, I need a SortByRows, and it needs to show the all of the steps required for the selected maintenance activity.

100 things vertically in a gallery would be a lot to scroll thru. Can you break it up into smaller chunks? It would be better to have separate pages with a smaller amount (say 10) per page. 

If you really want to use a gallery, it will work. You will need to add everything yourself. The gallery will "automatically" add 3, but you will have to do the others. I would copy and paste the 3, then grab all 6 and copy/paste those, then grab all 12, etc. Then you will need to change the fields manually, putting them in the order you want. 

It may be less hand coding if you use a form. That would have the system do more of the work, as you can order fields by draging and dropping. 

I would still look for a logical way to break things up. Your user would be very disappointed if they got 90 items into the list and something happened before they hit the save button and they needed to re-enter everything.

Yeah, that is a good point.

I was thinking of having a check box to signfy that the check was done which would then remove it from the list, or have a left and right button which woudl increment/decrement the checks that are shown.

Forms are easy to set up but a pain to customise visually.
