Horizontal Navigation Bar Design

Hi there,

I am completely new to PowerApps. I am currently building a Navigation bar.

My understanding regarding this so far:

- I cannot use a container given the layout of items. 

- Components have isolated scope so I cannot which means that they don't directly interact with the screens or controls outside of the component so I cannot use the 'Navigate' function on the text inputs.

What is the best way to approach this? Do I just create this navigation bar and add it to my 'Global Theme' screen that has my buttons etc.

I don't see how this will work as it's not driven off a data source?

You can create a table in the Items property of the gallery. I assume there wont be much updating/adding of new screens so it will be a set amount.

This is an example of what you would do

Table(
    {
        MenuLabel: "Jobs",
        MenuScreenNavigate: 'Jobs Screen',
        MenuID: 1
    },
    {
        MenuLabel: "Location",
        MenuScreenNavigate: 'Location Screen',
        MenuID: 2
    },
    {
        MenuLabel: "Machinery",
        MenuScreenNavigate: 'Machinery Screen',
        MenuID: 3
    }
)

Add a button into the gallery and set the Text property to be ThisItem.MenuLabel

Set the OnSelect property to be Navigate(ThisItem.MenuScreenNavigate)

For the rest, you just have to add your logo and the two icons on the right. And to add a rectangle behind all the controls with the fill to your maroon color.

How can we create a menu with submenus such that when we select 'Locations,' it shows 'Countries,' and when we select any one of the countries, it shows 'City Names'?
