Hello dear Power Apps Users!
I've encountered a problem while testing my app on an Android phone.
Here is the problem:
When I select a value in a dropdown field and accidently tap twice on it, the form will validate and send itself without checking any of the conditions I've put on the dropdown controls (OnSelect and OnChange) and on the "submit" button linked to the form.
Are any of you aware of that situation? If you are, what were your solutions?
Is there a way to disable the "double-tap" as an option to send a form?
Thanks in advance,
Best regards 🙂

Hi @Cindy_Kost ,
I am quite surprised your mobile device manages to actually render and perform all of that - the unexpected behavior I think is not surprising.
I keep my mobile drop-downs to very simple lists, generally from a collection and then if I need to perform another action, do it on a button (calculations in particular). If you want this automatic, I suggest at the Save function or if not saved, the screen exit.
Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. If the content was useful in other ways, please consider giving it Thumbs Up.
Hi @Cindy_Kost ,
Very unusual - we do 30,000 plus mobile entries annually with probably 3-4 drop-downs each and have never struck this.
What is the code on the OnChange of the drop-down?
Hello @WarrenBelz !
We're using the following code , I've added comments inside the code to translate some terms :
/*
var init to get :
Total number of hours
of selected Date
*/
Set(
_Total_heures; //total_of_hours_worked
Sum(
Filter(
data_apps; // get data from google sheet table
Nom = Nom_Picker.SelectedText.Value; // Get Name
Date = Text(Date_Picker.SelectedDate;"[$-fr-FR]dd/mm/yyyy") // Get Date
);
'Heure(s)_effectuée(s)' // colum number_of_hours_done of table
)
);;
/*
init error message
by name of day selected date
reminder :
mon/tue/wed/thu : 8h max
fri: 7h max
*/
If(
Text(Date_Picker.SelectedDate;"[$-fr-FR]ddd") = "lun"; // verify if day's name of selected date is "mon"
If(
_Total_heures + Nbre_heures_Picker.SelectedText.Value > 8; // if yes, add Total_of_hours_worked + selected value of "nbre_picker" drop-down and tell if it's superior to 8
Set(
_message;
"Vous avez dépassé 8 heures par jour veuillez modifier votre saisie" // "You've reached 8 hours this day, please change your input"
);
Set(
_message;
"" // If not, error message get nothing
)
);
Text(Date_Picker.SelectedDate;"[$-fr-FR]ddd") = "mar"; // same for "tue"
If(
_Total_heures + Nbre_heures_Picker.SelectedText.Value > 8;
Set(
_message;
"Vous avez dépassé 8 heures par jour veuillez modifier votre saisie"
);
Set(
_message;
""
)
);
Text(Date_Picker.SelectedDate;"[$-fr-FR]ddd") = "mer"; // same for "wed"
If(
_Total_heures + Nbre_heures_Picker.SelectedText.Value > 8;
Set(
_message;
"Vous avez dépassé 8 heures par jour veuillez modifier votre saisie"
);
Set(
_message;
""
)
);
Text(Date_Picker.SelectedDate;"[$-fr-FR]ddd") = "jeu"; // same for "thu"
If(
_Total_heures + Nbre_heures_Picker.SelectedText.Value > 8;
Set(
_message;
"Vous avez dépassé 8 heures par jour veuillez modifier votre saisie"
);
Set(
_message;

)
);
Text(Date_Picker.SelectedDate;"[$-fr-FR]ddd") = "ven"; // same for "Fri" excpet it's 7 hours of work instead of 8
If(

Set(
_message;
"Vous avez dépassé 7 heures par jour veuillez modifier votre saisie"
);
Set(
_message;
""
)
)
);;
I'll add you the code we've put on the OnSelect of that same drop-down :
/*
Here we catch the total_of_hours_worked
on the selected date
*/
Set(
_Total_heures; //total_of_hours_worked
Sum(
Filter(
data_apps; // Google sheet table
Nom = Nom_Picker.SelectedText.Value; // get name
Date = Text(Date_Picker.SelectedDate;"[$-fr-FR]dd/mm/yyyy") // get date
);
'Heure(s)_effectuée(s)' // colum number_of_hours_done of table
)
);;
/*
Error message initialization:
by name of day selected date
a second time just to be sure
*/
If(
Text(Date_Picker.SelectedDate;"[$-fr-FR]ddd") = "lun"; // verify if day's name of selected date is "mon"
If(
_Total_heures + Nbre_heures_Picker.SelectedText.Value > 8; // if yes, add Total_of_hours_worked + selected value of "nbre_picker" drop-down and tell if it's superior to 8
Set(
_message;
"Vous avez dépassé 8 heures par jour veuillez modifier votre saisie" // "You've reached 8 hours this day, please change your input"
);
Set(
_message;

)
);
Text(Date_Picker.SelectedDate;"[$-fr-FR]ddd") = "mar"; // same for tuesday
If(
_Total_heures + Nbre_heures_Picker.SelectedText.Value > 8;
Set(
_message;
"Vous avez dépassé 8 heures par jour veuillez modifier votre saisie"
);
Set(
_message;

)
);
Text(Date_Picker.SelectedDate;"[$-fr-FR]ddd") = "mer"; // same for Wednessday
If(
_Total_heures + Nbre_heures_Picker.SelectedText.Value > 8;
Set(
_message;
"Vous avez dépassé 8 heures par jour veuillez modifier votre saisie"
);
Set(
_message;

)
);
Text(Date_Picker.SelectedDate;"[$-fr-FR]ddd") = "jeu"; // same for Thursday
If(

Set(
_message;

);
Set(

);
Text(Date_Picker.SelectedDate;"[$-fr-FR]ddd") = "ven"; // same for Friday, except its 7h max instead of the usual 8h of work per day available

I hope it will help 🙂
Thank you for answering this fast !
