Hello,
I have a date picker with the following formula:
Text(DatePicker1_1.SelectedDate,"[$-en-US]mmm-dd-yyyy")
It beautifully displays all selected dates in the correct format (e.g. Apr-03-2020), except for dates within the month of May!
In May, the dates are showing with as "Ma20-19-2020", instead of "May-19-2020". Or "Ma20-05-2020" instead of "May-05-2020".
Is anyone experiencing anything like that?
PS: I have tried variations of the format, such as "mmmm-dd-yyyy", "mmm-d-yyyy", to no avail...

@Anonymous , and whoever else runs into this issue.
Microsoft technical team did come up with a rather simple workaround while they work on a definite fix.
And it's a very simple one.
The fix is to simply remove the Text formula from the Format function.
Just setting the Format function of the DatePicker to "[$-en-US]mmm-dd-yyyy" fixes the issue. I have tested and it worked!
I hope it works for you too.
Hi @pperrot1 ,
Not sure if this helps, but below is a test - have you tried this on another date picker in case this one is corrupt?

@WarrenBelz , no.
All of my Date Pickers are showing the same behavior. I have about 4 of them in my app.
I did notice that yours is formatted a bit differently (mmm dd,yyyy), which would also work for me. What formula is there in your format field?? I tried Text(DatePicker1_1.SelectedDate,"[$-en-US]mmm dd,yyyy") but did not work..
Hi @pperrot1 ,
This was a new Date Picker in my test app, so I did not change it at all, but the Format is ShortDate. I am in Australia, so our default if wanting other is dd/mm/yyyy. Have you tried doing a new blank app and see what happens in there as this is what I have basically done. If it still does this, you might want to lodge a Support Ticket with Microsoft

Hi @pperrot1 ,
Just checking if you got the result you were looking for on this thread. Happy to help further if not.

Hi@pperrot1,
Based on the issue you mentioned, you want to display selected dates in the correct format like May-19-2020.
I have a test on my side which goes well. Maybe there is something bug in Text function.
Please try Concatenate and modify your formula like this:
Concatenate(Text(DatePicker1.SelectedDate, “mmm”), “-”, Text(DatePicker1.SelectedDate, “dd”),”-”, Text(DatePicker1.SelectedDate, “yyyy”))
Best Regards,
Qi Qiao
Hi,
Sorry for not replying before.
I have created a new blank app, and the issue persists.
I will proceed on opening a ticket to Microsoft, per your suggestion.
Thanks!
Hi,
I tried your suggestion and still am getting the issue!
I will proceed on opening a ticket with Microsoft.
Did you end up logging a ticket and find an answer?
I am also in Australia and having the same issue.
@Anonymous
Yes, I did log in a ticket, and after some investigation, they did find this is an issue by design. This is the explanation (issued just yesterday by them):
"What is happening is that your Date Format is somehow coming in as "Apr-15-2020" or "May-13-2020". What then happens is that the letter "y" in May is interpreted as the token for a two-digit year, and the rest of the string is interpreted as a literal. The result is that the "y" gets replaced with "20" and you get "Ma20-13-2020". By chance this happens only in May in English, because the rest of the month abbreviations do not contain reserved lower case letters: d m y h."
With that said, they did said that they will evaluate if there is any viable workaround to avoid this from happening. They said they will keep me posted (and I'll keep you posted here as well).
