Issue with selecting SharePoint fields via Solution

I use a solution to deploy my Power Apps app from development environment to UAT and Production environment. 

 

My Filter on a SharePoint List is not working properly because 2 fields are not selected via the filter. When I debug the app, I observe the fields are not added to the collection. I added a lookup formula specific for these fields, the lookup returns blanks. 

 

The strange thing is in my maintenance form when I enter values to the 2 fields, I see in SharePoint that the fields are updated. 

 

This behaviour is only in my UAT and Production environment. I my development environment it works perfectly.

 

I rebuild the app and use standard selection of the SharePoint List. Without the solution and environment variables. Everything works fine.

 

So my conclusion is something is not working correctly when I use a solution

 

Has anyone had the same problem? And hopefully someone has a solution for it.

Why are the list names different: 'Organisation Chart List' vs. 'Organisation Chart'?

 

This is not the naming I would expect to see if the list is properly connected to an app in a solution.

 

in the case of 'Organisation Chart List' I use a Solution to deploy the app in another environment. So I use environment variables to assign the SharePoint lists to my app.

in the case of 'Organisation Chart' I assign the SharePoint lists directly to my app. 

 

It is the only difference between the 2 apps. I implemented the solution app as well in an environment of my customer and the same problem occurs in the environment, For this reason my conclusion is still that it is related to the use of a Solution

For the clearcollect I don't have a limitation on the columns, I selected all columns for the required rows. Do you mean I should use consequent Vessel_x0200_Year and not 'Vessel Year'  for instance?

 

I indeed use different data sources depending on the environment. I use an environment variable for the SharePoint site. And I have several environment variables for SharePoint Lists and libraries. 

I added the next 2 lookups in my app

Set(varCheck1,LookUp('Organisation Chart List',ID=26).Vessel_x0020_Year);
Set(varCheck2,LookUp('Organisation Chart List',ID=26).Vessel_x0020_IMO);

varCheck1 is empty and varCheck2 contains the correct value

 

All I can say is that the issue you describe is typically one of data or field naming. Its still not clear to me that you have linked to your list through an environment variable. Is the the name of your environment variable: "Organisation Chart List"?

Have your tried to refresh the data source in the App?

Have you looked at all of the columns returned by a statement like this to see if you can discern the issue: 

ClearCollect(colTest, LookUp('Organisation Chart List',ID=26)));

 

The only issue I know of with connecting a SharePoint list to an app via a connection variable is that you have to use the field schema name. 

 

Also, you have made confusing statements indicating that everything work perfectly in dev, but not is UAT or prod and this 100% indicates a difference in data structures.

The marked yellow values are empty. The field 'Vessel Year' and 'Vessel Capacity' are known in the collection. I can refer to them. The problem is that it doesn't select the values from the SharePoint list. All other values are selected correctly.

 

It works fine in my development environment. But after deployment of the solution in which ever environment for these 2 fields the content of the fields are empty. Although there are values in the SharePoint list available.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!   This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions in the Forums to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
