Issues with gettting values from a lookup table

Hi all, in need of urgent help,

I am doing this approval gallery where for each approval type the admin selects the approver for the drop down list.

Currently I have 2 sharepoint list one is where i store the approval types the other is the approver list where there is a column that looks up data from the approval type sharepoint list

The Approval Role sharepoint list

The approver list sharepoint: i have a column called approverrole where i look up the value from approval list column role name

but when i call the column name only 1/4 appears and the rest doesn't appear at all, it also only appears if there is an approval role for the respective requests,  i know my sharepoint for approver is blank but that is because it is a new column so there wouldn't have any values yet but if it is from a lookup shouldn't it have the column values from rolename

Hi @Yaswini24,

No, if your sharepoint list for approver is a new column and there wouldn't have any values, there will be blank if you refer to ThisItem because ThisItem represents the field value of the record you populate the form or Gallery with.

If you want to retrieve role names from source list, you need a ComboBox, populate the Items property with RoleName from Approval Role sharepoint list or ApproverRole from approver list.

To populate a combobox with ApproverRole from approver list, you need to refer to:

Choices(approver_list.ApproverRole)

To populate the Items property with RoleName from Approval Role sharepoint list, you need to refer to:

Approval_Role_list.RoleName

but I want to reflect the values in a text label instead, because the users will be choosing the approvers for the different role types

so i need to have 4 rows and each will have its own drop down list

Hi @Yaswini24,

I don't understand what you want to achieve....

You even don;t have any value for your LookUp field, how could you display role types?

The only way is to select a role type, so that users could choose the approver for the role type?

Or specify a role type in your Label.

okay let me be straightforward, i know that is empty but that is because i just created this sharepoint list due to last minute information on the role types. So what i really want to achieve is to display the different role types in a text label in the gallery, i know the other way is through power automate but is tedious.

Set the Gallery Items:

Choices(approver_list.ApproverRole)

Set the Label Text property as:

ThisItem.Value

Actually it didn't work for me but is okay because the requirement for different level of approvers has been removed, thank you for your help
