Hello Friends,
I have a small issue while I am accessing lookup field in PowerApp's Editing Screen.
Created 2 entities Case, Contacts
Case
1) Primary ID(Auto number)
2) Contact (Lookup field)
3) Case ID (Number)
Contact
1)Primary ID (Auto Number)
2)Contact (Phone Number)
3)Name (Text)
The above entities are created in Common Data Services. And in Contact entity I have few records.
And in Contact entity I have few records.
Next, connected both Data Sources Case and Contact in powerApp. Here I want to create a case record with one of the contact records of contact entity. So in an edit screen, I have 2 fields (Ie: Case ID, Contact Number{Look Up}). My Issue Comes here is, When I click one Contact field edit screen it supposed to show contact record value (Ie Phone Numbers) instead, it showing up Primary ID values (ie:000001).
Will anyone please help me.
Thank you,
Sharath

I have the same issue. Is there any other way to show the correct field (a workaround?)?
Hi Mokhawaja:
I'm having the same issue.
Can you please explain a little bit more how did you solved the problem?, my english is not so good...I don't understand what you did....
Better explanation of the issue:
I'm having the same issue, when I select the value I want to view instead of primaryt ID, it just disapear (though I know from the database that the value is not empty)
Same happens when viewing in the broser screen:
Help me please!!!
hi @cholopa,
first select the Datacard, then change the Default property to something like this formula:
LookUp(emleado_de_cliente_, PrimaryId=ThisItem.emleado_de_cliente_.PrimaryId)
............... just make sure the names in the formula represent your entities!
then select datacardvalue...
then in the side bar you can select value1 and all options will be available
please let me know if this solves your problem.
regards,
Mohammad
Thanks for the support!!!!
Do I have to change the default property here?:
Another issue I see, is that in your image i see you have a lot of values to select:
I can only choose between two values:
Even though I have 3 selected in defaultlookup -group fileds entiti:
Any clue?
hi @cholopa,
yes... change the default property from the mark i.e.: remove (Thisitem.Peticionario_) and put the following formula:
lookup(Peticionario, PrimaryId=Thisitem.Peticionario_.PrimaryId)
then you will notice that it will bring you all fields in 'Peticionario' entity, which you can choose anything from it.
regards,
Mohammad
Hi @mokhawaja
Thanks for the support.
Sadly it doesn't work (notice here we use ";" instead of "," for separting the arguments of the formula):
Have double check that the arguments are correct (picked the ones the application allows me to..)
What can be the issue?
lookup(Peticionario; PrimaryId=Thisitem.Peticionario_.PrimaryId)
@cholopa... copy and paste the above formula.
notice that before the last "PrimaryId" should be a dot "." not ";"
Thanks @mokhawaja:
Now is working fine, I understand better now what is doing...
There is one more think I would like you to help me... thanks a lot in advance!!!
I have a database with three entities
1- Customer (Peticionario)
2- Company (Empresa)
3- Work order (Orden de trabajo)
The flow is like this:
A customer that works at a company asks for a work order
So the relations are as follows:
There is a look up relation between customer and company (as the customer works in the company . A lot of customers can work in a company, but a customer can work only in one company )
There is a look up relation between work order and customer (as the work order is request by the customer. A lot of work orders can be made by a customer, but a work order is done only by one customer))
Going back to the issue, ideally, when selecting the person that has made the work order, I would also like to see of course the customer.name, but also the company.name (that way is much more fast to find and make sure that I select the correct person.
So when a new work order is registered, ideally I would like to view the customer.name property in the value 1 field and the customer.company.name property, in the value 2 field
With your help I've been able select the correct property, but as value1 and value 2 fields that I want are from different entities (though they are indeed related) I think is not posible to do what I want, is it?
