Making a field visible based on the values in Multi selection field

I am working on visitor request application.

The departments the visitors are planning to visit are chosen from the check boxes in MS form. The data is then written in SharePoint List. As the sharepoint list is updated via power automate, the field has square brackets by default.

I am making a field visible based on the value selected in he multi selected field.

If("Design" in VisitingAreaUpdateRequest.SelectedItems.Value || "Fabrication" in VisitingAreaUpdateRequest.SelectedItems.Value || "CAD" in VisitingAreaUpdateRequest.SelectedItems.Value,true,false)

Sharepoint list value has ["Design",Fabrication","CAD]

I want to make the people search field visible based on the departments chosen. If I choose the departments in the PowerApps form, I am able to see the respective manager (people search) field. But with the default data in the list, the manager field is not visible. I think it is because of the square brackets. I am not sure what is the best way to achieve this. Any help is highly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

@PowerUser19 ,

If that is on a Form. you need ThisItem. before the field name

@WarrenBelz  I tried using ThisItem as well. Didn't work.  Below were the errors

ThisItem isn't recognised and other error was Invalid use of "."

@PowerUser19 ,

Can you please post the code in Text you are using and also confirm the location of the control that you want to show/hide (is it on a Form).

Hi @WarrenBelz ,

The location of the control that I want to show/hide is within the Form itself. All the fields in the form are displayed from SharePoint list based on the selection from the Dropdown list.
Below is the code used under the Visible property of the Show/Hide control (PD Manager)
If("Toyota Design Australia - Studio" in VisitingAreaUpdateRequest.SelectedItems.Value || "Toyota Design Australia - Fabrication" in VisitingAreaUpdateRequest.SelectedItems.Value || "Toyota Design Australia - Indoor viewing" in VisitingAreaUpdateRequest.SelectedItems.Value || "Toyota Design Australia - Studio" in ThisItem.'Visiting Area',true,false)

@PowerUser19 ,

Firstly you do not need If/true/false, but I need to understand what is not working - are you  saying this works or not?

"Toyota Design Australia - Studio" in VisitingAreaUpdateRequest.SelectedItems.Value ||
"Toyota Design Australia - Fabrication" in VisitingAreaUpdateRequest.SelectedItems.Value ||
"Toyota Design Australia - Indoor viewing" in VisitingAreaUpdateRequest.SelectedItems.Value ||
"Toyota Design Australia - Studio" in ThisItem.'Visiting Area'

 I cannot see your data and also what type of field is Visiting Area ?

@WarrenBelz  the code is not working. Only if I make the selection in the form again, the Manager (User search) control becomes visible. If the values are already selected, it doesn't appear.
Visiting Area is Combobox - Multi Select field

This is how it is stored in SharePoint list

@PowerUser19 ,

You need all 3 values, but assuming this is a multi-select field you need .Value

"Toyota Design Australia - Studio" in VisitingAreaUpdateRequest.SelectedItems.Value ||
"Toyota Design Australia - Fabrication" in VisitingAreaUpdateRequest.SelectedItems.Value ||
"Toyota Design Australia - Indoor viewing" in VisitingAreaUpdateRequest.SelectedItems.Value ||
"Toyota Design Australia - Studio" in ThisItem.'Visiting Area'.Value ||
"Toyota Design Australia - Fabrication" in ThisItem.'Visiting Area'.Value ||
"Toyota Design Australia - Indoor viewing" in ThisItem.'Visiting Area'.Value

@WarrenBelz  I tried .Value as well. It didn't work either. 😞

@WarrenBelz  Is there any other method to get a control displayed based on the selected value in the combo box?
