Hi

Hope this can be done.

So I have two collection and all the columns name and type is same except the below column which is like below for the two Collections. The below column is a choice field from SharePoint List. Collection B is a collection from the SharePoint and CollectionA get the choice item from the same SP List.

Hi,

So I cannot do it with Add Columns and Drop Columns.

So what I did was create a new Text Column on SP and so was able to merge like that now.

So what I did was in the item property of this column refer to the same SP choice column and in the default refer to the new text column.

Thanks for the help

@indhaa ,

You have to add columns to each until they both have the same field names/data types, then you can merge them.

Actually I want to know if I can merge this choice field. If so how to do it.

I tried testing with this field with Concat function to see how it accept the value

Concat(CollectionA, SourceServiceType)

Concat(CollectionB, SourceServiceType.Value)

@indhaa ,

Very messy with a Choice field unless you have an equivalent field in the other collection. If the "matching" column in the other collection is text, you would have to use AddColumns with ChoiceFieldname.Value then DropColumns for the original. Seriously if you want to merge two data sets, you are better advised to plan their structure with this in mind in the first place.

Actually both Collection is using the same SharePoint List column. I think because I'm using Collection A to Add new data to SP List and the other one I'm using to amend the data in the SharePoint List, how it is storing the Choice column value in the Collection is different. I'm trying to create a repeating table (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DylxsXIUyDc) using a Gallery for New and Edit request. Trying to do this differently than in the video. Only having issue within this since the SP List have a choice column. I was able to do the same with another SP List.

So Collection A , I have to add column with SourceServiceType.Value and then drop this column?. Can elaborate a little?

Or maybe I need to amend the SP List column as a Text column and set it as a choice column on the collection side. Don't know if I can achieve this when I try to edit the SP list again during Edit mode to select the default value of the dropdown as the value of the text field.

@indhaa ,

You are better simply making the column Text in the list and hard-coding the choices in Power Apps (then they are both Text). You are correct in the AddColumns/DropColumns.

@indhaa ,

Yes, same result - you have to line up the column names and types.
