Moving existing cards and button to a new screen

I just assumed this would be an easy thing to do like dragging the items from the left down to a new screen but I can't see anyway of doing this easily?

I have an existing canvas app with a bunch of datacards (form) and 2 buttons on the bottom.  It's forcing the user to scroll and that scroll is very small so they are missing the bottom fields. The buttons are showing as if it is the bottom of the form so multiple fields are being missed.

How do I move a couple of the cards and the buttons to the new screen I created?  Something so simple yet so hard to do ie low code.

In the designer, you do not have the drag and drop ability.  You can copy and paste controls from one screen to another.

However, what you are talking of doing is really splitting a form!  You cannot move just the datacards to another screen, you will need to have a form on the other screen to use them.

You might do better to do some resizing of the controls and cards in your form to avoid the form from scrolling.

I hope this is helpful for you.

Is there a way to maybe force the buttons that I have to only show at the bottom of the screen so they don't see them until they scroll down?

@luvsql

Yes.  You will need to utilize a scrollable screen for this.  Quite simple to do.

First, in your app, add a new screen and choose "Scrollable Screen"

You will then have a blank screen with a label at the top.  It will also have an object in it called Canvas (most likely it will be Canvas1).  Click on that canvas object and cut it (ctrl-x) from the screen.  You can then delete the added screen.

Now, go back to your original screen and paste (ctrl-v) that canvas control into the screen (note, not inside of anything else).

Now, select your current form and cut it (ctrl-x) and then select DataCard1 that will be in the newly added Canvas object and paste it there (ctrl-v).  Resize datacard1 so that it is as large (or slightly larger) than your form.  Also make sure your form is full height (so it doesn't scroll either).

Now, on the screen in the Canvas control, you will see a "Add section" plus icon.  Click on that.  It will create a new datacard under the current one.

Select your buttons and then cut them (ctrl-x).  Then select the new datacard added and paste them (ctrl-v) there.

Resize cards according to your needs and you will then have what you are looking for.

I'm able to drag the datacard down below the form but I'm not sure how to "Also make sure your form is full height (so it doesn't scroll either)."  I've set the datacard to be 1500 and form to be 1500 but the scroll is still there.

I think it might be easier to just create a new app with scrolling screen from scratch.  I wish when you choose to create a new canvas phone app it asked you for the screen type first.  I didn't know that was an option and just assumed it would adjust to the number of form fields like Microsoft Forms does.

@luvsql

Yeah, you don't need to start a new app.  Plus you can't specify that type of screen when creating anyway.  So the process is still as I mentioned.

This works perfectly fine.  You will STILL have a scrollable portion of the screen if your form is larger than the screen height, but your buttons can be fixed or scrollable at the bottom however you might want.

In fact, if you only want the buttons to appear at the bottom of the form, you didn't even really need the second datacard in your canvas object (sorry about that - had it stuck in my mind).  You can just put them at the bottom of the form.

Make sure your Form is at 0 Y and 0 X in the datacard.  The form needs to be fully expanded and the datacard it is in needs to be higher than the form height.

Should work just fine with the above.

I already made most of the changes and it won't let me restore as it's somehow locked in edit mode with my account.  Even after a reboot, clearing all my cache from my browser, opening in edit then forcing close it still won't restore, so basically will have to recreate it anyway.

I recreated the app from scratch and in order for the buttons to show at the bottom of the form, I added a new custom datacard then added the buttons there.  Scrolling works perfect now, but now the Clear Submit buttons don't work.  So infuriating.

@luvsql

Yes, this is because you put them in a datacard in your form!

Using the canvas object as I mentioned would avoid that aspect of the problem!  But, you can still have your buttons in the form if you so choose.  If your buttons are not working, then the form record is not valid.

What is the DefaultMode of your form and what is the Item property of the form as well?
