Navigating back to edit form does not go to most recently edited item

I am building an app wherein the user can fill in a form and click 'Save' which submits the form (OnSelect is SubmitForm(Form1_1)), creating a new line item in the SharePoint list data source, and navigates the user to a DisplayScreen showing the data from their form in a different format (OnSuccess is Notify("Success: Your NOW Request has been saved", NotificationType.Success); Navigate(Screen_Display);).

On that display screen, there is an Edit button to allow the user to go back and make changes if needed before submitting the form for approval (button's OnSelect is Navigate(Form1_1, ScreenTransition.Fade)).  However, it is not navigating to the item they just created.  How can I fix this????

I have seen this question a few times but none of the fixes I have seen actually work in my app.

@tlangfor - I suspect there is something wrong with the Item property of the Edit Form.

Assuming you want users to populate the EditForm based on a selected Gallery item, I would expect the OnSelect property of the Gallery to have something along lines of:

UpdateContext({ctx_FormItem: ThisItem});
EditForm('Your Form')

And the Item property of both the EditForm and the DisplayForm to contain:

ctx_FormItem

"ctx_FormItem" is a Context Variable. You will pass this Variable across different screens. To do this, on the OnSuccess property of your Edit Form, you can use:

Navigate(
    Screen_Display,
    ScreenTransition.Fade,
    {ctx_FormItem: Self.LastSubmit}
)

Hi Imran.  I am trying this,  However, on the form Item screen, I cannot get it to accept 'ctx_FormItem'.

My Gallery OnSelect is:

How do I correct the Item property as it does not accept just ctx_FormItem?

The reason it probably isn't working in your case is because Context Variables exist within a single screen only.  So to get this to work for your situation, use Set(variablename, ThisItem).  That will set a global variable instead that can be read across different screens.

@zuurg - that is not correct. It is possible to "pass" a context variable across screens instead of using global variables and this is what the 3rd parameter of the Navigate function is for.

@tlangfor - have you actually entered ctx_FormItem into the Item property of your EditForm?

Don't be sorry, it's all good.  You would set the variables in the same spots as where you have the UpdateContext above.  The Set(...) would replace the UpdateContext.  

In fact, from prior experience, I would recommend against using ThisItem or Galleryx.Selected to store the record into your global variable.  A better approach would be (using your code from above):

My Gallery OnSelect is:

       Set(varFormItem, LookUp(listname,ID = ThisItem.ID));

UpdateContext({ctx_FormItem: ThisItem});
EditForm(Form1_1)    

My Edit Forms' Item property is:

       varFormItem

MainGallery.Selected

My Edit Forms' OnSuccess property is:

       Set(varFormItem,LookUp(listname,ID=Self.LastSubmit.ID);

Notify(
"Success: Your NOW Request has been saved",
