Need to Upload a Excel file into onedrive and add/update into a sharepoint list

Hi all,

In my app i need to add/ update an excel file into onedrive.

After, from that excel file i need to update or add a data into a sharepoint list.

How to do this using flow?

Hi @Dhinesh28R，

I think you should firstly update your excel file within Power Apps using something like form or Patch() function.

Then you should build a flow to synchronize SP list based on excel updates.

Write the following expression for the condition:

length(outputs('Get_items')?['body/value'])

In my scenario my list having a Lookup column.

Following is my list:

Name	Department (Lookup Column)
Dhinesh	IT
Dinesh	Non-IT

Following is my Excel:

Name	Department
Dhinesh	IT
Dinesh	Non-IT

This is where am confusing in flow only Dapartment id field is there.

How to am mapping excel to that lookup id column in flow.

This is what am need add/update a lookup field from excel to list using flow.

Hi @Dhinesh28R,

I am confused that how could you map the Department column from another SP list?

Update an excel column to synchronize a LookUp column in SP list, which makes no sense. You have already had a column in another SP list to provide values for the Department (Lookup Column), I don't know why you need to update it based on column in Excel column.

In addition, I would imagine you change it into a Text column type, which may be more efficient.

Am not mapping from another SP list.

i need add or update if excel data is available on SP list then no issues or else i need to update a value from excel to SharePoint list.

Following is my list:

Name	Department (Lookup Column)
Dhinesh	IT
Dinesh	Non-IT

Following is my Excel:

Name	Department
Dhinesh	IT
Raja	Medical

That's why am asking in a flow Department Id only available.

How to i give a value to that Department Id?

This is what i need, after add or update from excel to SP list

Hi @Dhinesh28R,

If you not mapping Department (Lookup Column) from another SP list, please tell me how you create this LookUp column in your list? A LookUp column must have a resource column(Text) from another SP list.

Whatever, I would ignore this confusion and I assume that you want to check if the Department column has a value as it existed in the Excel table. If so, I think the first reply could solve your issue. You just need to replace the filter query within the Get items action with Department.

You are correct. I can filter with Industry with Excel's Industry.

But am asking on a Create or Update item on a flow lookup id column which field i need to give?

Am asking about Industry Id field. Which column i need to give on that?
