Need to connect to a DB2 database! How to?

I need to perform select, update, insert and delete in a DB2 database. How can I connect to it? 

I read a post about it but the answer was just "create a gateway" but did not told how to do it.

Is there a documentation about gateway for DB2?

That is weird because I use this user/password to connect through excel to this DB.

Perhaps some config is missing...

Is this an IBM i power machine?

If so you should connect through dra on port 446

SERVERNAME:446

as database you should also enter your servername then you will be able to see all schemas.

Furthermore the IBM db2 connector is a little bit buggy at the moment it can't handle autogenerated id's/rows.

I am not sure but it is most likely that the server is a power machine.

I've tried to to: 

Server: XXXXX.YY.COMPANY.COM:446

DB: LIBRARY.TABLE XXXXX.YY.COMPANY.COM

And I got: Microsoft Db2 Client: An internal network library error has occurred. A network level syntax error has occurred.SQLSTATE=HY000 SQLCODE=-379

Server: XXXXX.YY.COMPANY.COM:446  looks ok to me

Database: this should only be the server name ( i think the localname of the machine)

I know it looks strange but please try it like this.

After that you will be able to select the schema and tables.

I'm amy trying to access i-Series through data gateway.  I have the data gateway setup on my laptop for now.  It is on a network with the i-series. 

I'm using the DB2 connector.

I choose the radio button  'Connect using on-premises data gateway'

For server name I have tried with and without :446

When I get to authenication, the only choice I have is Windows.  Since this is an i-Series, I think I should have choices other than Windows.

Is that correct or not?

Indeed, think you should also have an option to use database authentication.

Here is the combination that worked for me.

Server:  i-SeriesName.MyCompany.com:446

Database:  i-SeriesName

Authentication:  Basic

Hi,

Had the same problem and was not able to see all tables.

If you scroll down in your list of tables/schema's you have the option "custom" you can enter your schema/table name manually.
