Nested Gallery, 1st Item nested gallery template the wrong size

I have a set of nested Galleries, for some reason no matter what I set the child gallery template height to, it always reverts back to 320 on the first item of the partent gallery.

It seems that the height of child gallery is based on the height of parent gallery.

To test this issue, I created a nested gallery.

Before adding the child gallery, I do no change on the height property of the parent galley. Then when I want to change the height of the child gallery to an value, I found that no matter what value I set the child gallery height to, it will back to a default value.

Then I try to change the height of the parent gallery before adding the child gallery to an value I want. I found that the height of the child gallery will be changed based on the height of parent gallery.

Please try to change the height of the parent gallery but not the height of child gallery to see if it works for you.

Hi Mabel,

I have tried the following and get this result:

Green:

Insert a gallery and change no heights.

Select the gallery template and insert a nested gallery.

Change the nested gallery height then change the nested gallery template height.

Orange:

Insert a gallery and change the height from default.

Change the gallery template height from default.

Select the gallery template and insert a nested gallery.

Change the nested gallery height  then change the nested gallery template height.

In the first item of the gallery the nested galleries' template heights are 320 instead of the chosen height.

Sometimes if I close and re-open in the web studio I get it showing the wrong height in the display but the correct height in the property pane.

No matter what combination of sizes I try the first item in the parent always produces a height of 320 on the child template while all subsequent parent items produce the correct height on the child template.

I also noticed that the child gallery does not have a TemplateFill property when it is initially added.

I can only see the TemplateFill property after saving, closing and re-opening in the web studio.

Thanks for investigating on this issue.

About the TemplateFill property for the child gallery, when it is initially added, it seems that I can select and configure the TemplateFill property, but not after saving, closing and reopening in the Web studio.

Which browser are you using? I am using Edge.

I am having this same issue.  It seemed to be fixed for a while, but now the TemplateSize (only on the first item) of my nested gallery reverts to 320.

Has anyone discovered a workaround?

I was just playing with this yesterday and found a workaround for now.

If you set the template size to a context variable instead of a fixed value then set the context variable on the page show event it works correctly.

It seems that the default height is evaulated first before the page is shown then the context variable is updated which forces the gallery to re-evaluate and resize properly.

You need more kudos for this - you completely saved my bacon! This is definitely a bug. FYI, I found the bug also occurs for on a gallery, and on that gallery it occurs when the data is refreshed, so I'm also setting the variable post refresh.
