Goodday,
I have an issue which i see a good amount of posts about yet i do not see a singular solution which works in my case.
Most people have a sharepoint list as dataset when this error occurs. I however am using an SQL Server with an admin account so all permissions should be fine.
Any help?
See below for more indepth information about the PowerApp
Code:
Patch(
'DD.product_subunit_batch_step_timeloss',
LookUp(
'DD.product_subunit_batch_step_timeloss',
batch_cycle_id = dataholder_batch_cycle_id.Selected.batch_cycle_id
),
{reason_category_id: input_reason_category_id}
)
I am trying to update the 'DD.product_subunit_batch_step_timeloss',
inserting reason_category_id into it based on task_id.
So i have some hidden placeholders with the next data:
processorder_id based on the full_processorder_dropdown.Selected.full_processorder_id
batch_cycle_id_dropdown dependant on processorder_id_dropdown
then i can use the batch_cycle_id to check if i am inserting the reason into the correct row.
see ERD below to know why i needed these.
More data: When highlighting the error it highlights the text value "input_reason_category_id"
Thank you,
New error:
Any help with this? I tried to restart the powerapp no luck sadly. "Bad gateway"
I'm not sure but my only guess is that you are trying to compare an int to a text with the lookup formula.
Can you try to add a label to the same screen and change the Text property to the following?
LookUp(
'DD.product_subunit_batch_step_timeloss',
batch_cycle_id = dataholder_batch_cycle_id.selected.batch_cycle_id
).batch_cyclce_id
If you get the same error try the following
LookUp(
'DD.product_subunit_batch_step_timeloss',
batch_cycle_id = Value(dataholder_batch_cycle_id.selected.batch_cycle_id)
).batch_cyclce_id
and if this fixes the problem it means that you are trying to compare batch_cycle_id (int) to a selected value in the drop-down (Text) and you just have to convert that Text to a number by using the Value() function again
Thanks, I don't think i quite get what u are trying to do with those 2 sets of code. Also, both the codes work when i fixed the spelling mistakes in them and gave me the batch_cycle_id. I have already got that part working in a different location though? How to convert number/int and other way around?
Okay so my point is wrong, the lookup part is working fine
The problem seems to be from the patch itself
I noticed that batch_cycle_id is a foreign key
did you make sure that the value for it that you are trying to patch exists in the table 'Reason_category' ?
If it does not exist, I don't think you can insert a value for a foreign key if the value does not exist in the table that it is referencing.
If it does exist, unfortunately, I'm out of ideas.
@Charbel_kh i found in the monitor when i had the Bad gateway issue i do actually filter down to 1 row it just doesnt send it to the database location.
Yes, that's why I asked you first to try to use the lookUp part independently I was making sure that it is working.
The problem seems to be while the data is being modified in SQL
I will explain how i structure my data to come to the end result:
I am new to powerapps so this may not be efficient.
The way i connected to my Foreign key tables is by using a dropdown(make it 1 pixel big) and depend it on the other key. I am bassicly using an SQL INNER JOIN but manually via dropdown dependencys.
Process:
Manual select: Table:'DD.processorder_id' Value: full_processorder_id
->
Filter('DD.batch_cycle', processorder_id = 'dataholder_processorderid on name'.Selected.processorder_id)
->
Filter('DD.product_subunit_batch_step_timeloss', batch_cycle_id = placeholder_batch_cycle_dropdown.Selected.batch_cycle_id)
See below an explained way of workflow.
The insert into is what im trying to do bassicly.
Everything seems to work except the push from powerapps to the mysql server.
I understood your workflow and there is nothing wrong with it
the problem comes from updating the value in the 'product_subunit_batch_step_timeloss' table
I was just making sure that the value '10' that you entered before for the field 'reason_category_id' in the table 'product_subunit_batch_step_timeloss' exists in the table 'Reason_Category'
