OnStart not working properly on first screen

Hi All,

This is so bizarre and only started recently. I use a top navigation menu that display or hides certain entries. I load the table for the menu when the app starts as below:

However when the first screen of the app opens none of the menu entries display. If I navigate to the second screen of the app the menu shows properly. This is driving me mad. Even more I tried loading the variable on first screen's OnVisible, same issue. 

What's even more insane is that if I navigate back from the Second screen to the first screen then the menu shows.

I'm at a loss as what to do 😞

Anyone else experience issues similar to this.

BTW, Use non-blocking OnStart rule is Off in Settings so it's not that

If you set non-blocking OnStart rule to On, does that make a difference?

If I had to take a guess, I'd say that this is the cause of the problem.

ItemVisible: varUserClaims in colQATeam

The evaluation of varUserClaims and colQATeam might not be completing in sufficient time before Screen1 is visible. By enabling blocking in OnStart, you may be able to overcome this potential timing issue.

Thanks for replying. I have indeed tried with OnStart on.

With ItemVisible I even tried a variable ie

Set (varShowItem, varUserClaims in colQATeam)

then 

ItemVisible: varShowItem

Done that with OnStart, as well as OnVisible, no luck. I navigate to the second screen that has none of this and it shows okay.

What I've done in the end is add a button outside the menu that is visible when 

varUserClaims in colQATeam 

and that works.

I'll leave it as a glitch that cannot be explained.

I have a similar issue: I've defined a custom theme for the app in OnStart and applied it to components. It doesn't work for components on the first screen but works for components on all other screens. Eg:
Set(ThemePrimaryColor, Color.Red) in App.Onstart
A label in first screen: Label1.Color = ThemePrimaryColor
A label in second screen: Label2.Color = ThemePrimaryColor

Result: Label1 color is black but Label2 color is red.

I've tried with and without non-blocking OnStart. 

What I've found weirder is that this works for some code components that I use. So if I set a JSON variable with the theme colors, it works perfectly fine for code components. I've also tried defining it in App.Formulas and its the same result. I hope someone can figure this out.

As a workaround, I set the StartScreen to a blank screen with a loading spinner and a timer which is set to a duration of 1. OnTimerEnd, it navigates to the start screen that I want. Everything seems to work fine with this approach.
