Hi,
I am building an app that has around 10 different Sharepoint list connections, each one of these lists have a unique name and ID field that im trying to reference for each Edit Form, the lists look similar to below examples (There will all be roughly 50-100 employees)
PS (ignore the fact its in excel it doesn't show sensitive data and its quicker to show for a demo, its all in excel)
This "Sharepoint List" is called EmployeeInfoList
This "Sharepoint List" is called EmployeeSkillsList1
This "Sharepoint List" is called EmployeeSkillsList2
The first screen ill call the "Welcome_Employee_Select_Screen", on it is a gallery ill call "GalEmpSelect" with the EmployeeInfoList Sharepoint database (Example Above) where a user can either select a previously entered employee (no navigate) or they can add a new user. The selected user is displayed on a label on every screen.
Also on the first screen will be another Gallery ill call "GalNavigate" which uses a local collection that displays all the relevent skills available using the following example code,
Collect(
SkillsPage,
{
SkillCat: "Skill Category 1",
SkillName: "Skill1"
},
{
SkillCat: "Skill Category 1",
SkillName: "Skill2"
},
{
SkillCat: "Skill Category 1",
SkillName: "Skill3"
},
{
SkillCat: "Skill Category 1",
SkillName: "Skill4"
},
{
SkillCat: "Skill Category 1",
SkillName: "Skill5"
},
{
SkillCat: "Skill Category 1",
SkillName: "Skill6"
},
{
SkillCat: "Skill Category 1",
SkillName: "Skill7"
},
{
SkillCat: "Skill Category 1",
SkillName: "Skill8"
},
{
SkillCat: "Skill Category 2",
SkillName: "Skill33"
},
{
SkillCat: "Skill Category 1",
SkillName: "Skill34"
},
{
SkillCat: "Skill Category 1",
SkillName: "Skill35"
}
)
so a user after selecting an employee can choose to navigate to the specific skill sets screen and modify just one or more users specific skills.
In this examples above the EmployeeSkillsList1 database will be added as the item function used on a EditForm ill Call FormEmployeeSkills1 on a screen called EmployeeSkillsScreen1 and for the EmployeeSkillsList2 database it will be the item function used on a EditForm ill Call FormEmployeeSkills2 on a screen called EmployeeSkillsScreen2
Here is an example of my app
Welcome_Employee_Select_Screen
EmployeeScreen
EmployeeSkillsScreen1
EmployeeSkillsScreen2
If i wish to modift existing data and since i wish to have only one gallery "GalEmpSelect" only the EmployeeEditForm connects perfectly to the EmployeeInfoList on the EmployeeScreen using the Gallery.Selected), understandably i cannot use the Item function on the other forms E.g (Gallery.Selected), so i have tried also to use a variable to capture the name and fill the forms using the name or ID to connect to the correct row on that skills page however i failed with the same error?
Am i able to use a difference variable somehow? or can i somehow use the name i have displayed on the label on the top of each page to load the correct row into the EmployeeSkillsEditForms>?
Also if i can, i take it id have to have an If Statement for if the user selects the Add button to have a new user as they will then go from page to page to add all the skills they may have?
Could someone help this problem has plagued me before and im stuck on it.

The form in EmployeeSkillsScreen2
Set it's Items property to:
Lookup(EmployeeSkillsList2,ID=GalEmpSelect.Selected.ID)
