Outlook email works but gmail does not.

Hello

I had great success having a preformatted email that I can send with Outlook but when I change my connector from Outlook to Gmail and my expression from Office365Outlook.SendEmail to Gmail.SendEmail I instantly get the invalid argument error. I have searched the net but not really come up with anything.

Hi @Corissandageri ,

Based on the issue that you mentioned, I have made a test on my side, and the issue is confirmed on my side. It seems that the Char(10) function is not supported within Gmail body.

 

As an alternative solution, please consider replace the Char(10) within your email body message with "<br/>", replace the Char(32) with " ". On your side, please consider modify your formula as below:

                  Dropdown_Email.Selected.Result,
                  {
                    Subject: "This weeks order P.O "& OrderNumber,
                    Body: "Hello <br/>"& Dropdown2_3.Selected.Result & "<br/>" & Can I Please & "<br/>" & Concat(Purchaselist2, "Qty: " & OrderQty12 & " " &"Code: " & Codes12 & " " & "Description: " & Description12 & "<br/>")& "<br/>" & TextInputTotal & "<br/>" & "<br/>" & Notes1

Hi @Corissandageri 

Did you change the format of your email formula? For Gmail you need something like:

Gmail.SendEmailV2("emailaddress@email.com", {Subject: "Test", Body: "Body Test"})

As a side note, Char(10) does not seem to work with Office365Outlook.SendEmailV2

Based on the Gmail.SendEmailV2(...) formula that you mentioned, I think there is something wrong with it.

 

The standard formula syntax of Gmail.SendEmailV2(...) function as below:

Gmail.SendEmailV2(To, {Cc: Text, Subject:Text, Body: Text, importance:Text, Attachments: Table})

So on your side, please consider modify your formula as below:

Thank you, it is now sending, but just one more thing. With outlook I got the correct format like this:

Thank you again, it is now emailing and correctly formatted, probably 20 years since I last typed any html. I was expecting I would have to html the whole email for "<br/>" to work.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!   This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions in the Forums to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
