Patch SharePoint List Where Field Type changed

If you create a SharePoint custom list with a numeric column, and then in SharePoint you subsequently change the field type for that column to Text, and you execute the patch function via the web interface, PowerApps reports argument <field_name> does not match the expected type 'Number'. Found type 'Text'

This does not happen in the Windoiws 10 Desktop app, only on PowerApps web interface.

Tested this with change a Numeric field type column in SharePoint to a multi-line text fiield type

I am trying to reproduce this issue on my side. But it seems that I am not able to reproduce it.

Following is my reproduce steps. Please feel free correct me if they are not same with you.

1. Create a list with Number column. Then create an app based on this list.
2. All work fine. Then change the Number column type to Multiple lines of text column type.
3. Then on Web and Desktop studio, seems that I can configure Patch function without error messages. The Patch function I am using is:

Patch(NewList,Defaults(NewList),{Title:TextInput1.Text,ge1r:TextInput2.Text})

Hi Mabel,

I seem to have narrowed the problem down.

1. Create a basic custom list, no additional columns, only the Title (tested on SharePoint Online).

2. Add a row to the list

3. Create an app in the Desktop studio and connect to this list

4. Add a gallery control to the page, and add a Text field to the galley: ThisItem.Title

5. Save the app

6. App works fine in desktop client and through web UX

7. Add another column to the list - I don't think it matters what type of column type. I used a Yes/No column.

8 Added another row to the list, with Yes field selected

9. Refresh the data source in the PowerApps Desktop Studio

9. Added a check-box control to the gallery: ThisItem.MyYesNoField

10. Save the app

11. Content renders correct in desktop app, but not in web browser

12. If I then edit the app in the web studio, it does not recognise the new list field

13. To resolve the problem, I removed the data source and added it again. Then everything works fine.

14. I have the same issue if I change a column type. It works fine in the desktop client, but the change is not recognised in the web UX. If I remove and add the data source again it works fine.
