Patch function that is working within an envorinment fails in another

I have a canvas app that creates a new record in a SharePoint list, this app has a Patch functions which sends a data to the SharePoint list. This function works as expected in one environment, but when I export the application to a new environment it fails with the following error message:

 

The requested operation is invalid. Server Response: Teams Request failed, the specified user i:0#.f|membership|John Smith could not be found.

 

I have refreshed the connectors withing the new environment, here is the code for creating the request properties and the ptach function.

ok, so that means that the particular account it's trying to reference does not have an email set, as its adding (blank) to the end of 

i:0#.f|membership|

- have you put your colMembers in a gallery to ensure that all of your items have data?

You might need to filter your colMembers to only have items with a valid email address.

 

Claims works in the SharePoint person column context by using an email address to associate that person object with a unique account - displayname can't be used for this as there could be more than one person with the same name, but there can't be more than one person with the same email address in Active Directory

Normally the claims field uses an email address or User Principal Name, but you are using displayname?

I'm not sure why it was working in your original environment (shouldn't have), but could you try using Email or UPN instead?

The app was using "owner.Mail" initially but changing it to "DisplayName" solved this issue in the previous environment. I have now changed the claims to use "Mail", and that results in the same error message, just without the user name. So the error message now looks like this:

Thanks! You are correct, looking at my collection after running the "ClearCollect" function I could see that the collection containing the user does not contain a user email. I found out that this is due to the user being unlicensed.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!   This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions in the Forums to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
