Patching checkbox

Hi all,

I have been looking to patch back to a SharePoint list but having trouble with the checkboxes. If the checkbox is ticked and I untick, after saving it goes back to the previous state (and does not update the SharePoint list).

I have looked at a Reza video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76RJyaoW0BQ) and he refers to the OnChange property. But that doesn't appear to exist anymore. I am able to patch the text fields.

So I have a hidden button (ButtonCanvas5) with the following:

The OnChange value for the text field is set to:

Select(ButtonCanvas5)

Seeing as there is no OnChange for the checkboxes, I have set the OnCheck and OnUncheck values to:

Select(ButtonCanvas5)

Now when I make a change to the checkboxes and click save, the action does not save and the list is not updated. Text field updates work fine. This is the value for my save button:

        Active,
        ID

Clear(colGridUpdates);

This is my SharePoint list:

Added to SQL and Active are both Yes/No type

Any idea why this is not working?

Just to eliminate an item here, try a Classic Check Box (you will need .Value instead of .Checked)

I changed the checkbox to the classic version (and adjusted it to .Value as suggested) and had some success:

The first one 'Added to SQL' performs as expected but the 'Active' one still wont save changes. In SharePoint they appear to be the same:

  

In PowerApps the default setting is different

The default property for each is set to

ThisItem.'Added to SQL'

ThisItem.Active

In Power Apps the checkboxes show what I have selected and not what the SP list contains. Any idea why they are behaving so differently?

A bit strange that one works and the other does not - I am not sure if this will help, but try

So I am doing something similar. What I do not understand is after the item is patched, why the checkbox resets?

That is expected gallery behaviour - all controls reset to their Default if anything is run from inside the gallery.
