Populate Dropdown based off another DropDown Values

I am really confused and frustrated because I cannot figure this out. Why does this work when I use Input, Dropdown but does not work when I use Forms, Edit? I will try to explain but please bear with me as I am new to PowerApps. I have attached pictures to help.

I have a Sharepoint List that I want to select a dropdown and have the 2nd dropdown populate based on the value I select in the 1st dropdown. When I insert a dropdown via Input, Dropdown, and change Items to read from the Sharepoint list, it works for me. But when I use Forms, Edit, it does not work. Can anyone tell me why this is or what I am doing wrong, please?

Expected Record Value - The property on this control expects a Record values. The rule produces Text values which are incompatible.

Have seen the screenshots you provided, you failed to populated one Dropdown based on another Dropdown in an Edit Form, but it works when you set two separate Dropdowns.

Do you want to populate a dropdown based on another dropdown in the Edit Form?

First, let me explain the issue within an Edit Form. Actually, there are two Combo Boxes rather than two Dropdowns which the drop-down menus are represented by the Combo Box in the Edit Form by default.

@WarrenBelz set the correct record format, you can take a try.

As an alternative solution, you can directly set the Items property of the second ComboBox to achieve your needs.

The Items property will show the result on condition. The Default property, on the other hand, is the initial value that is displayed without any interaction. I have a test on my side, please take a try as below.

Ps: I have two Choice column named ‘Location’ and ‘Capital’

• Set the Items property of the first Combo Box in Edit Form as:

Choices('0610'.Location)​

• Set the Items property of the second Combo Box in Edit Form as:

Filter(Choices('0610'.Capital), Value in Concat(Filter('0610',Location.Value = DataCardValue9.Selected.Value), Capital.Value & ";"))​

Note: Please remember to UNLOCK the card when you edit.
