Populate dropdown items with gallery item

Hi friend, 

Happy New Year to All.

I have a situation to solve.

Items of a dropdown to populate from a gallery item and when I filter gallery using any other drop down, this particular dropdown to also update its items dynamically.

 Any quick inputs would be helpful.

Use for items property of the dropdown the same formula as for gallery. So if you have in items property of the gallery something like:

Filter(datasource, oneColumnName=DropDown.Selected.Value)

 the simplest way to keep the second dropdown items updated as in gallery is to use the same formula.

There is another way to keep the second dropdown items updated using Gallery.AllItems, but please keep in mind that this approach will not have accurate results if we are taking about large amount of data loaded in gallery.

Do you want to populate the particular Dropdown based on another Dropdown?

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?

@gabibalaban is correct that you could directly copy the formula from the Items property of the Gallery, however, you should define the field for the Dropdown control or define the field just behind the Filter() formula.

Sum up:

1). Try the formula from @gabibalaban, but set the Value for your aimed field:

2). Modify the filter formula as below:

<Your_Filter_formula_Set_For_Gallery>.FieldName

So i dont know if this is the solution you were looking for but none of the previous options made sense to me. So if anyone still needs something like this try it. 

in the items option of your combobox try this formula

Distinct(ShowColumns(YourGalleryNamehere.AllItems,"YourGalleryColumnName"),YourGalleryColumnName.Text)

For me the formula looks like this. 

Distinct(ShowColumns(HomeGallery.AllItems,"Label_1"),Label_1.Text)

Gallery Name: HomeGallery

Column in the Gallery: Label_1

The distinct is what finally made this work for me. I hope this helps.
