Power Apps Combobox + SharePoint Lookup Lists (with multiple columns) = 🤬

I am using Power Apps to customize a SharePoint list form and am having a rather challenging time with lookup columns.

❌ If the lookup list (source) has more than one column, the column that references the lookup list is NOT updated on save.

✔ If the lookup list (source) has only a single column, the column that references the lookup list is updated as expected.

I have searched the Internet for a few days and have found various articles with "solutions", but I have not been able to get any of them to work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

In the screenshot below:

The green box is the column with a lookup list that has a single column; the combo box value is saved as expected.

The red box is the column with a lookup list that has multiple columns; the combo box value is not saved.

Can you expand more on what you mean by single and multiple columns?  

You are not updating your lookup list, you are updating the column in your source list that is a Lookup column to a separate list.

Please clarify.

@RandyHayes thank you for the prompt response.  Hopefully, I can explain the setup a little more here with this image.  There are 3 lists (BRANCH, BRANCHGRADE, and Faculty Certificates); actually more, but for this case, I'll only cover those that are relevant.  The colored boxes show the relationship between the column and their lookup [list].[column].  The Faculty Certificates list is what is being updated by the Power App customized form.  The [Faculty Certificates].[Faculty Grade] column is not being updated when the form is saved.  I did have the [Faculty Certificates].[Faculty Branch] column, set as a lookup column that referenced [BRANCH].[Title] and it was updating as expected on save.  However, there really wasn't much need in having that column as a lookup, so I re-created it as a choice column.

Hopefully, this explains it a bit better.

BADA BING BADA BOOM!!! I got it to update the lookup column.

Thanks to WarrenBelz for the solution which he identified in this post.  The key is the Card Update property configuration shown below.
