Power Apps button executing flow

Hello,

I have a detail screen of a SharePoint list item. I want to be able to have a user click a button which creates a PDF in a folder of that data (detail screen). I have created a template for the PDF using HTML to create the document which created in a certain folder, no problem. I just need to know the best way to link the button to the flow.

What is the correct syntax on the "On Select" for the button to create the PDF with the required fields in the detail screen (Gallery)?

Also, does the button have to be in the Gallery or can it be outside on the screen and just point to it?

Current flow:

Thanks in advance.

If you didn't insert any "Ask in PowerApps" dynamic content in the flow then just close the parentheses since you have no parameters.  If you had defined any there would be intellisense prompting you for the parameters.

And no the button doesn't need to be in the Gallery.

If i understand your question right so on your Button ->Click Action->Powerautomate and then choose your flow

Go to the Power Automate tab on the Action menu in the Power Apps editor while the button is selected.  If you click on the flow in the list it will prompt you to fill in the run command for the flow.

@Mira_Ghaly I understand that but the finishing formula on the "On Select" field of the button. Also I need to know where the button has to be placed. does it have to be in the gallery?

@Pstork1 Maybe I'm not explaining it well. I just need to understand what syntax goes in the on select attribute of the button to execute my flow once I have attached it. As you can see in my post, my flow gets the item (supposed to be the item that is in the detail screen) and creates a document of those fields in a certain folder. That part is fine. What should be the correct syntax for the button.

Thanks in advance.

The point is that when you select the flow from that list with the button selected it will prompt you with the syntax.  In general it is the name of the flow followed by run then any parameters you've designed in the flow inside the parentheses.  So in my case since I defined two "Ask in PowerApps" parameters in the flow its the following

'SaveImage'.Run(First(mypics1).Title,First(mypics1).Pic)

SaveImage is the name of the flow

Run is the command to trigger the flow manually

First(mypics1).Title pulls the title field from the first record in the mypics1 collection

First(mypics1).pic is the base64 encoded image that the camera took also in the first record.

@Pstork1 I have the below in the Get Item to pull the ID. So I'm assuming I have to direct the button to the detail form in order for the flow to know what ID to get, correct? And how would I do that?

@Pstork1 Figured it out. I had to Point to the data card for the ID. Works now.

Thanks.
