Hello everyone,
I am building a new power app to filter an excel file (working hours and information about the job) and export the filtered results to a new excel file to show it to the customer, who pays.
The user (project manager or the consultants itself) should filter the consultant name and his working date. I use this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dSk5iOgT68 of @RezaDorrani to make my app.
My questions are:
1. Why does not show my gallery the whole excel file without entering any filter?
2. Why does this filter not show me the last day of the month?
'Date' >= Date_From.SelectedDate && 'Date' <= Date_To.SelectedDate
If the Date_to date is picked e.g. 31.03.2022, in the gallery it will not shown this date 31.03.2022. Only until 30.03.2022
3. I used excel online as data source. Every month the project manager or the consultants have to update this excel as data source file with the current working times. Are there more smooth solution for this issue? Maybe the consultant can upload an excel file on the app, filter it and send the new filtered excel file? Is this possible with power apps?
Thank you so much!
BR,
Mete
Hi @mete1001
From what You describe at last in my opinion You do not need Power Apps only Power Automate to resolve Your problem.
Power Apps should not be use to Automate a process it's more to simplify User interaction with Input and View of the data.
Power Automate is more suitable to automate a process and send result to users using Outlook connector.
You should look on a flow what will read data from Your spreadsheet when new file is Uploaded use power Query / Filters to manipulate data than create result in a excel file and send it to the stakeholders.
Alternative You should use Power BI create dataset what will be updated and than manipulate data and share report or provide access to it to Your stakeholders

Hi @SebS
thank you for your comment. Can be the filters variable in a flow? Because in my case the user has to filter the consultant name and than the month of work. And of course you have to change the consultant name to get it from different consultants. This is why I thought on Power Apps. Filter it on PowerApps and than get the right output via excel with Automate. I hope it is clear and I could describe my issue.
If it is possible with a flow, do you have some content links to learn from it? 🙂
Thank you!
Regards
Hi @mete1001
Unfortunate in Power Automate You are unable to manipulate filters on fly especially by user only Owners will be able to change the settings of the flow that's why You will be better off with Power BI reports. The only issue You will have if You want to build report what Multiple users can interact with when You publish it You will need to have Power BI Premium. Still it should be more efficient than Power Apps
You will just update Source with new Data and publish report than others You share the report with will be able to interact with filters or sliders.
It's my bad I assume You just using the App to process the data and there is no interaction and data is generic like You have 3 companies You working with and you need each month send them hours what will be easy to set up in power automate.
I look in to Your filter and I do not see an issue with the code so it should show the 31.03 as You include >= what means you looking for grater and equal dates to picked date and that 100% will include the date You picked if it exist in the data source.
Also it's strange You cant see all data when you reset the controls just in case in gallery items place only Tabelle1 without Filter code and see if that will pull all data You can also try refresh this table by clicking on left side Data icon and than refresh it from there.
Regards
