Power apps not saving dates

in my project I have a date and time calendar that is to let users be able to input their dates by clicking the edit button.

However once the user chooses a date and clicks the checkmark it simply goes back to the default dates that are on there.

what is needed to be changed or added so the dates can be saved?

Just to be sure, when user is on edit mode and selecting the date, are they clicking on Ok within the calendar?

yes they click on OK it shows the new date put in, but once they click the check after editing the date , it does not save the date.

Could you please provide the snippet of the power fx formula used within the submit button and the update of the date data card?

Another QQ, have you checked the value on the data source, does it get updated after the submit or how it appears?

Can you test by changing the update property to the datacardvalue assigned to the date with a DatacardValue.SelectedDate 

For example, in this case for the Travel start date the update would be DatacardValue12.SelectedDate.

In your case would be: 

UpdateContext({ selectedRecord: DatacardValue.SelectedDate, editMode: true })

So for my tour start date to be saved I just need to

Please, expand the card by clicking on the right arrow. There you'll be able to visualize the datacard. You need to include on the update property of Tour Start Date_DataCard1 --> UpdateContext({ selectedRecord: "Nameofdatacardvalue".tourstartdate, editMode: true })

For example, on the scenario shared before it will be --> UpdateContext({ selectedRecord: DataCardValue12.SelectedDate, editMode: true })

so the thing that would need to be added to this would be something like so?
