PowerApp Barcode EAN 13

Hi all!

Here is a case scenario.

We need to build a  Mobile App to be used as an employee Card.

In this card it has to be an Ean13 bar code which is a static one for each employee. The employee need to scan that in a shop through an APP (that is connected to the AAD) if they need to buy  so they get a discount.

The bar code has to be connected with the employee Id in AAD. PS: not the ID of the user. 

I am able to get the Employee Id from AAD with an API

I have tried a few workarounds and I cant see how to get the bar code working.

Is this even possible to achieve? I am running out of ideas now and a bit frustrated

Hi @titawitch 

We need to use Microsoft Graph to get the User. We can filter using employeeid and get the user details from AD

https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/users?$select=displayName,employeeid,userPrincipalName&$filter=employeeId eq 'sp0108'

AAD setup for this user

To get Employee ID from AD

https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/users/stalin@ltiblogs.onmicrosoft.com?$select=employeeid

Do you want to generate the user's ID as a QR code?

If so,You could try this URL:

https://chart.googleapis.com/chart?chs=150x150&cht=qr&chl=Hello%20world&choe=UTF-8

Just replace ‘Hello%20world’ with the user ID and put this url into a image control's image property.

• MS store to generate EAN 13 barcode
• Using Word 
• Other Free online tools

I haven't tested these. I use QR codes in all my projects.

Hi guys!

There are no ways I can make this work. I have a flow with a API where I get the EmployeeID. How can I run this flow from the powerapp on start and make this fill out the Employee ID field in the App?

Thanks. Is this dynamic. So when each user log in the App get a different Barcode? If not how can I do that?

Hoe can i fill this in the PoweraPP field EmployeeId on start? I ghave the Api and the flow where I get the information from but the only thing missing is to get the employeId filled out Onstat in the App?

Set OnStart property of App to

Set(UserInfo, User())

AppOn this screen visible 

Set(VarEmployeeId,GetEmployeeID.Run(UserInfo.Email).employeeid)

Set the text property of the label to

VarEmployeeId
