Hello i need really help. I make an App for an customer and i dont get the right syntax/formel to import my Collection in my Sharepoint List. This is my OnSelect Syntax:
ForAll(col_Daten;Patch(Betriebsdaten;Defaults(Betriebsdaten);{AblesewertNumerisch:AblesewertNumerisch;Bemerkungen:Bemerkungen;Mitarbeiter:Mitarbeiter}))
Can someone help me? Because when i Push the Button with this Syntax i get an failure :"Network error when using the patch function: The "Title" field is required."
Solved! Go to Solution.
@Crounex I am sorry, you are using the ; syntax instead of , .
Change the , in the LookUp to ; (after Betriebsdaten):
LookUp(Betriebsdaten; AblesewertNumerisch = Blank() && Mitarbeiter.Value = Blank() && Bemerkungen = Blank());
Hi @Crounex your syntax looks good but you are missing a required field.
You can (1) also patch the Title field or (2) set the title field to not required.
To set a field to not required, please follow this guide.
If you want to patch the Title field as well, try the code below:
ForAll(col_Daten;
Patch(Betriebsdaten;Defaults(Betriebsdaten);
{
AblesewertNumerisch:AblesewertNumerisch;
Bemerkungen:Bemerkungen;
Mitarbeiter:Mitarbeiter;
//replace "test title" with a meaningful field
Title: "Test Title"
}
)
)
If this solves your question, would you be so kind as to accept it as a solution.
Thanks!
Thanks for the fast replay and sorry for my bad englisch because im from Germany.
Your syntax worked but not the way I thought it would.
I'll try to explain it better. I have a PowerAutomate Flow, this creates empty entries in my sharepoint list (but also has some fixed data).
So this is my Sharepoint List with the entries with the fixed Datas. It is important that the data also keep the affiliation to the buildings because via the app I say which data are posted in which building.
So I need some syntax/formula that will only enter the 3 dates in the given records. I hope it is understandable.
@Crounex no worries. I can read German so if it is easier for you, go ahead and continue in German.
So how I understand it currently is:
Your collection only contains those 3 values, but it is not clear to me what you want to achieve with those values. Do you want to update existing records created by the PA flow or create new records as you are doing now?
If you want to update, your collection will need to contain some sort of unique field or ID linking to the values of your app with existing records in SharePoint.
I want my app to capture the 3 values and then add them to my sharepoint list. However, these values must be entered in the lines provided for this purpose. It is mandatory that the 3 values are inserted into the already existing sharepoint entries.
I may also have to add, my collection is created as follows.
App -> OnStart ClearCollect(col_Data;Betriebsdaten)
So yes we have basically the same titles etc. or im wrong?
@Crounex there will always be empty SP records for the items in Power Apps?
If the mapping between values In the App and existing records in SP does not matter try (the items can go into any empty SP record):
ForAll(col_Daten;
Patch(Betriebsdaten;
LookUp(Betriebsdaten, AblesewertNumerisch = Blank() && Mitarbeiter.Value = Blank() && Bemerkungen = Blank());
{
AblesewertNumerisch:AblesewertNumerisch;
Bemerkungen:Bemerkungen;
Mitarbeiter:Mitarbeiter;
}
)
)
The code above will write your data to a random empty record within the SP list.
If the mapping / link between the values and certain records is important. For example: item 1 has to be fill a specific record in your list. You will have to add some sort of ID or unique field to the item collection.
I wanted to try your code but there is an error in the code. When I paste the code it does not recognize the comma
@Crounex I am sorry, you are using the ; syntax instead of , .
Change the , in the LookUp to ; (after Betriebsdaten):
LookUp(Betriebsdaten; AblesewertNumerisch = Blank() && Mitarbeiter.Value = Blank() && Bemerkungen = Blank());
Thank you very much for your help. It works now. I just have to tell my customer that he has to run a strict router, so that the entered data also come into the correct line.
@Crounex Glad I could help!
If the issue is solved, would it be possible to accept it as a solution in order to close the topic.
Note: I suppose you currently have 3 fields in the app that capture the Ablesewert, Mitarbeiter... If you want to make sure the correct line is updated, you could add an additional dropdown that lists the Gebaeude types during the data entering. This selected gebaeude type will then also be saved as an additional column in the collection.
You can then extend the previous look up with:
LookUp(Betriebsdaten; AblesewertNumerisch = Blank() && Mitarbeiter.Value = Blank() && Bemerkungen = Blank() && Gebaeude.Value = GebaeudeColumnNameInCollection);
This will make sure the items are linked to the correct gebaeude type.
