PowerApp with image from url does not show in SharePoint Online webpart

Hello,

Perhaps this should acctually be a question for the SharePoint community but I'll try my luck here aswell. I am positive someone will have something for me or in worst case telling me that it is not possible.

Background:

So we are migrating a workload from old school excel type to Sharepoint Online, lists and more.

In this particular case we are using workloads with power apps, power automate, teams (adaptive cards) to make changes to a Sharepoint List. We could discuss that but that part of the workflow works fine.

However I have hit a bit of a snag in implementing some picture "thumbnails" for some of the list items.

The problem at hand:

We have a library with the image files I want to store and each list item has "filepath" for the image that is connected to that item.

Now I have done the following to display this

If(IsBlank(ThisItem.FileRef),"https://<tenant>.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/getpreview.ashx?resolution=1&path=/sites/<sposite>/SiteAssets/<imagelib>/defaultimagefile.png","https://<tenant>.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/getpreview.ashx?resolution=1&path="&ThisItem.FileRef)

 Now this works within power apps design or if browsing to the app url

But when attaching it to a spo page as a webpart the images does not appear in the app.

So just as a test I have tried this with public images and that works. 

Is there anyway to achieve this with "private" images?

Hi @tcvall86 ,

I have done a blog on capturing and displaying images. 
I noticed that they are in a SharePoint Library - if you connect to this as a data source in the app, the ThumbNail solution should work for you.

So what I ended up doing was adding an Image library and connect to that aswell in the Power App and get the Thumbnail that way by comparing two values that are in both the list and the image library.

It may not be the prettiest solution but it works
