I came to know that the Power Apps populate a word document is a premium connector. I have developed an application using this premium connector to capture user input and populate as a word document.
Is there any other alternate to populate a word document ?

You can run the "Quick Parts" method off the Power Apps trigger as it does not use any Premium connectors (as per my Flow).
My reference to the SharePoint trigger was in relation to the Word Premium connector.

There are ways to populate a PDF using standard connectors, but not a Word document.
There is a rather lengthy way of doing it using Word "Quick Parts" fields and saving the template in a SharePoint Library with metadata field names matching the merge fields. You then create a new record and using Power Automate get the content of the now merged template. Laura Rogers did a video on it a couple of years back, but I cannot find it, but I switched to the new connector a while ago. You can run the new connector off "When an item is created or modified" trigger in SharePoint with the merge data in it, so there is no need for running it directly from Power Apps.
It is quite a while since I have written one of these "Quick Parts" merges, but I dug out one of my old archived Flows below.

I have some issue in creating a flow as you mentioned.
1. Initially I created a PowerApps that uses a patch function to merge data to the SharePoint list
2. Then created a Word document in developer mode as a template to merge the SharePoint columns data accordingly.
3. Created a SharePoint folder to place the Word doc template.
3. Finally, tried creating a flow to automate the filling of the Word doc template as per your suggestion, but could find the same flow process as you have mentioned.

The problem with you current approach is that filling in the word template using Wordonline currently only works for files stored in OneDrive. So you'll need to create the filled in file in OneDrive (step 3) and then copy it to SharePoint after its created.

How are word templates populated from powerapps ?.We have word templates that we are targeting for transformation into the new system One way would be to have the fields actually written into the template and read from and written to by our custom system.
Can someone shed some light on this and how we can go about this?I am new to powerapps so please direct me to any specific tutorial
