PowerApps data not showing up in List

Hi all,

I have built a canvas app, to collect user data and store it in SharePoint List.

Everything working fine, until recently we found a strange behaviour, our user input data in the canvas app and submit in PowerApp, when all the patch function finished, we see the data here in PowerApp gallery, but then when my colleague go back in desktop SharePoint List / List application it just shown a blank list.

This happened on me once long ago as well. Since it just happened once I couldn't get any screenshot on the situation. And I remember how I solved this last time by keeping on F5 refleshing the page, and suddenly the data came back. My PowerApp almost runs for more then a year now.

1)But now my question is, what's cause this happened?

2)And how to solve this situation correctly?

3)And how I solve this yesterday night was

I use my own account go in the list and download the data for my colleague. (I see the data here in my account, but my colleague still do not see anything?)

Hi @clachan,

Do you mean that you could not see any update when you go to the SP list just after the submission?

Actually, it is a known issue that SharePoint list does not reflect the data updates in real time, sometimes you need to manually refresh the list, that's why data came back when keeping on F5 refleshing the page.

Not sure how you download the data and how you share it with your colleague, as I know, we should assign the read role of the permission to your colleague if they visit the data on SharePoint list online.

The PowerApp flow work well for us more then a year now. But in some occasions, 3-4 times a year I think. (Which means the problem are not from sharing and or permission)

After user submit their data.

1)The data patch successfully and we all could see the update on mobile PowerApp

2)But then when my colleague go to desktop browser SPList he could not see any data in the list but he see the data in his mobile (he refleshing browser so many times, the data still not showing up)

3)Then he turn to me and ask if I see the data, then I go to the list the data are here. (Me and my other colleagues also having  the same experience)

That is why I am getting to know and also trying to find a way to solve this issue.

"it is a known issue that SharePoint list does not reflect the data updates in real time" from Oi but are there any standard or minimum sync time garentee...etc from Microsoft?

Hi @clachan,

There must be something settings you don't mention, like that:

1). I don't know if each user could see all the data from the data source on mobile app?

2). Do your colleague have edit or read permission of this list?

We are teams of 4 normally use PowerApps to collect data from field, then we need to go back to office desktop download the list as CSV then proccess the data in desktop excel.

We have test all user could normally access, edit the SP list in grid field and also download as CSV as well.

And all 4 of us has using this workflow for over a year now (it works great except sometimes things happens as I mentioned in previous post).

Which means sharing, access and update is not the cause of issues.

My colleague see data in mobile phone
