PowerBIIntegration.Data not picking up PowerBI data fields - Name not Valid

Hello,

I have created a new canvas tablet PowerApp with the intent of adding this to an existing PowerBI dashboard which already has several PowerApp visuals sitting in it.

My issue is that I am able to add the visual in PowerBI Desktop, add my PowerBI PowerApps Data bucket, e.g. id_risk, find my new app and open the app in PowerApps and saved it so that all should be connected and linked.

However, in my PowerApp, whilst it now recognises the PowerBIIntegration datasource, it will not pick up "id_risk" as a valid name and thus my app is not able to work.  Has anyone else seen this whereby the connection just doesn't seem to have quite worked.  I have given it a couple of hours to see if it was some kind of sync issue.

I gotta tell you, I haven’t done anything like this since I had and fixed this issue. I truly have no clue where to begin.

Hey, 
I created a Power App from inside the Power Apps visual in Power BI. The integration worked fine. After I saved and later wanted to make changes, it would not show any data in Power Apps, even if I edit the App through the Power BI visual. 

So here is the solution, that worked for me: 
First publish your Power BI Dashboard

- Open it in PowerBi.com 

- Go to edit

- Go to the Power Apps visual in your Power BI Dashboard

- Click on three dots and now edit

Now when your App opens in Power Apps the integration should work perfectly and all data which you had passed in to your Power Apps visiual should be accessable.

I have same issue. My BI report is passing 12 fields to PowerBIIntegration.Data object. But only 7 fields are showing up.  I have tried delete the App Visual and recreate but still the same.

After use @Talha02  approach it is working immediately. Thanks!

So I finally got it working.

Dataverse version: 9.2.23104.00186

PowerBI version:  I think it is the latest and greatest as of Nov. 2023

All I did is, switch to using the PowerBI in Web Browser and followed the steps listed  - select the fields in PowerBI, PowerBI opens the App and then the formula "PowerBIIntegration.Data.'Field name'

What worked for me is :

To build reports I usually use Power BI DESKTOP.
And in desktop version I am getting blank data in Power Apps (using PowerBIIntegration.Data).

Solution:
I have Published my desktop version to Power BI SERVICES.

And from my workspace I have went to Report and started Editing report and Power Apps visual.

Connection is working perfectly here.

@Talha02 Thanks for your solution and I want to stress that all the steps to access the power apps portion of the power bi report have to be done through the published power bi file, at app.powerbi.com. I was trying to do the steps from power bi desktop.

This method of publishing it to the web and then editing or adding the data from the web version of a power bi report into the power apps works.

Hi All,

I have recently started working with Power BI and have gone through the suggested solution approach and it does work when I have only column fields added to the PowerApps visual but does not work for calculated measures added to this visual. I have 2 basic calculated measures for Start Date and End Date and these have been added as PowerApps Data fields but do not show up. I have tried many ways of doing this re-adding the measures, adding the measures in Edit Mode as well as recreating the PowerApps visual, but nothing works. Any help in this regard will be very much appreciated. Thanks
