Powerapp not updating sharepoint list when submitting

Hi,

I have a powerapp that i am using to submit a request using a SharePoint list as a data source. I am NOT using a from only using individual controls while i am using a collection and then a patch to write to the SharePoint list. Yet when i hit the SUBMIT button i have to refresh the SharePoint list for the record to show. Is this normal behavior? or is there is something i can do on the Powerapp for the record to show automatically on the list? I have tried Refresh(DataSource) does not work for me.

Hi @patty789 

Could you post the OnSubmit function that you are using for your button?  Also, why are you using a collection instead of directly patching to your SharePoint list? A picture of your screen would also help me understand the problem.

@Drrickryp What i am using on the OnSelect action of my Submit button is this COLLECT(DataSource, IndividualPlan). The reason why i am using a collection is because i am using a gallery to show what has been collected from the individual controls, then selecting submit to write to the data source. Yet my SharePoint list does not automatically show the record until i manually hit the  refresh on the browser to show the new record on the list.

Hi @patty789 

If you are looking at your list in SharePoint, it won't reflect the change until you refresh the browser.  To see if it is really there in PowerApps, I suggest the following test.  Put a Datatable on the screen and set the Items property to Sort(datasource, ID, Descending).  Once the datasource has been patched, the datatable should reflect the change.  If not, refresh the datasource and see if the new item is in the datatable.

@Drrickryp I did what you suggested and i do see the new record on the datatable after i hit the submit button. The reason why i am asking this is i have a flow that fulfills certain conditions yet it does not trigger the Approval status column to Approved so i was thinking that it could be on the PowerApps side as the record does not show automatically.
