Problem Reading Context Variable Immediately After Being Set

To replicate an issue I'm having, I created a very simple canvas app screen with two buttons (SaveButton and RunChecksButton). 

The OnSelect method of the RunChecksButton performs some validations and then sets a context variable locIsFormValid to either true or false.

The OnSelect method of the SaveButton calls Select(RunChecksButton) and then attempts to read the value of context variable locIsFormValid.  However, when I click the SaveButton, the correct value of the context variable is not reflected.  

Is the OnSelect method of the SaveButton running the Select(RunChecksButton) and read to the context variable concurrently?  I do not have this wrapped in a Concurrent function.

Are both button on same screen? Because if you are using UpdateContext it is available on same screen only. If they are not on same screen try using "Set" instead if updateContexts.

Let's say you store the value in variable on screen 1,

If you try to read it on screen 2 it will not be available

I found the following in the docs for the Select function:

"Select queues the target OnSelect for later processing, which may happen after the current formula has finished being evaluated. Select doesn't cause the target OnSelect to evaluate immediately, nor does Select wait for OnSelect to finish being evaluated."

I think this is why I'm seeing this odd behavior.  I was attempting to put all my validations in the OnSelect of a button so that the validation code could be reused.  In my actual app, I have two buttons that call this code (SaveButton and SaveSubmitButton).  The SaveSubmitButton has additional behavior to launch a confirmation dialog before saving the changes.  Has anyone got around this limitation with duplicating the validation code?

Both are on the same screen.  see my response below. It appears to be an issue with the Select function not running sequentially.

then instead using OnSelect run your validations on your save button. If they run correct save the form. Else give error message

Hi @Anonymous ,

You may add another variable on the first check button in the end of OnSelect:

UpdateContext({Checked: true})

OnVisible of the screen:

UpdateContext({Checked: false})

and append this variable on DisplayMode of the save button:

If(Checked, DisplayMode.Edit, DisplayMode.Disabled)

So once navigate to this screen the save button will be disabled, after clicking the check button and all the formulas operated completely, it will become edit mode and clickable.
