Properties according to new or edit on same form

Hey lads,

Hope you're doing good.

I have a form that I can edit (from a product detail) or open new (from the + icon).

I would like to set different properties according whether it's in edit or in view mode.

For example the value of the column "Stock":

In EditForm mode I wish it to be just in view mode with certain font, size and color

In NewForm mode, I wish to only show the hint text with different font, size and color.

Another example, the picture of a product:

In EditForm mode, I wish to display the URL (editable) of the picture + the picture itself

in NewForm mode, I would only like to display the URL field to put a picture to a new product

How can I achieve that? I guess there is some sort of If statement we can use?

Some general advice I have if you are trying to write the code based on what state the form is currently in you can do this:

Switch(
    Form1.Mode,
    FormMode.New, your_code_here,
    FormMode.Edit, your_code_here
)

For example: if you want the text to be red during NEW mode and black during EDIT mode you would put this code in the Color property

Switch(
    Form1.Mode,
    FormMode.New, Red,
    FormMode.Edit, Black
)

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?

Do you want to change the properties of a Text Input box based on mode of the Edit form?

Based on the needs that you mentioned, I think the If function could achieve your needs. e.g. If you want the "Stock" field value to be in View mode, when current Edit form is in Edit mode, please unlock the "Stock" field data card in your Edit form, set the DisplayMode property of the Stock Text Input box to following:

If(
   EditForm1.Mode=FormMode.Edit, 
   DisplayMode.View, 
   DisplayMode.Edit
)

If you wan to show hint text value within the "Stock" field Text box when your Edit form is in New mode, please consider set the HintText property of the "Stock" field Text box to following:

If(
   EditForm1.Mode = FormMode.New,
   "Please set the Sotck in Edit mode...."
   Blank()
)

same logic formula should be applied to other properties of the Stock TextInput box in your Edit form.

Please consider take a try with above solution, check if the issue is solved.
