Hi,
I am trying the demo version of "Quick tasks" and tried to just create it directly from the template and test it, but it seems to be some errors and I am not sure what to do?
Not sure how to translate the error in english, but if you create the app from the template and click on the "Control app" icon in the upper right corner, you'll find two error within the "New plan" section. Ill post a screenshot of it, perhaps someone can help me to solve the issue.
Hi @Anonymous :
I made a similar test and encountered the problem you mentioned.
The reason is your PowerApps studio has enabled the ‘More reliable Concurrent’ feature.
To avoid race conditions and ensure reliable operation it will block functions that can change the screen or exit the app from being used with the concurrent function.
Here is my solution:
Disable ‘More reliable Concurrent’ feature.(File-Settings-Advanced settings- More reliable Concurrent)
Best Regards,
Bof
Thanks! This removed the error but I still have some issues with it on my phone. When I open the application on my phone, it says an error message on the top and no emails are loaded. "Office365users.userprofilev2. failed, method userprofilevs2 have the wrong value for parameter ID. "
Any idea?
Hi @Anonymous :
I did some tests and found that the action in the OnStart of the application was not triggered, which caused the problem you described.
My solution:
Change the way to trigger the action in the OnStart property
set 'Home' screen's OnVisible property to:
//On app start retrieve user emails and plans
Set(LoadEmails, true);
Concurrent(
Set(MyDomainName,Last(Split(Office365Users.MyProfile().Mail,"@")).Result),
Set(LastSynced, Now()),
Set(EmailFolderName, "Inbox"),
//Create new option for a plan. This is the first item in the MyPlanSelection
ClearCollect(MyPlansGalleryItems, {id: "NotAPlan2", title: "Create New Plan"}),
//Create new option for a bucket. This is the first item in the MyBucketSelection
ClearCollect(MyBucketsGalleryItems, {id: "NotABucket2", name: "Create New Bucket", planId: "NotAPlan2"}),
ClearCollect(DLAddresses,
ForAll(Filter(Split(Trim(SettingsDLsInUse.Text), ","), !IsBlank(Result)), {
Email: Result} ))
);
Concurrent(
ClearCollect(Emails, Office365.GetEmails({folderPath:EmailFolderName, fetchOnlyUnread: false, searchQuery: "(To:" & First(DLAddresses).Email & " OR CC:" & Dropdown1.SelectedText.Email & ")", top: 25})),
Collect(MyPlansGalleryItems, Planner.ListMyPlansV2().value)
);
Set(SelectedMail, First(Emails));
Set(LoadEmails, false)
Best Regards,
Bof
Hi and thanks for reply,
The issue is still there though. I have tried both of these things you mentioned
1. I disabled the More reliable concurrent function
2. I added the code you posted on Home - OnVisible
Still have the problems and got more errors now.
I post some pictures
Hi @Anonymous :
From your screenshots, the functions, variables, etc. in the formula are not recognized. So there will be so many errors.If they are recognized, they should be marked in color.
I suggest that you cut the code in OnStart into the OnVisible attribute, because some areas use ";" instead of ",".
In addition,I suggest you reopen the app and try again.
Best Regards,
Bof
Hi @v-bofeng-msft,
I changed from "Office365.GetEmails" to "Office365Outlook.GetEmails" the code and now it is working.
But I still have a problem yet.
Do you have any idea why it is not working?
All the best,
Ákos
Ok. I have copied over the quick task template but instead of an email gallery, I used a Planner Gallery. I can get everything to work but I cannot pull the description box text into the task. I have look through most of the controls and cannot find where the "DescriptionText.Text" gets pulled into anything. I can use this,"Planner.UpdateTaskDetailsV2(seeTaskDetail.id,{description:DescriptionText.Text})" to update using another button but the template has everything done at once. Also too, if I just change the right and middle groups of the template to my Planner galleries, it works just not when I try to rebuild all the controls into my own group.
