Quick View & Subgrid Issue

Hi there

Looks like I may be experiencing a bug when you have a subgrid and quick form added on the same form.  In my experience, the quick form view is causing the subgrid of a different entity to default to that quick view frame.

Example, Private Notes Entity On Top, Quick View On bottom.  The Private Notes Entity is showing the frame from the quick view:

When I remove the quick view, the subgrid works as expected:

To add, the quick view is hosting a subgrid in itself.  Are there any known restrictions with this?

@smonaco

Those both look like subgrids. Not sure the mapping you have put in place to render those subgrids.

It is working for me though.

As you can see both subgrids are working fine.

Cheers!

Thanks for the reply!  For mine one is a subgrid, the other is a subgrid within a quick view widget that is supposed to pull information from the contact lookup record.  For some reason the quickview one is overriding the rendering of all subgrids that exist on the form when placed on it.

I am not getting that issue in my case. I have added two subgrids within a quick view form.

I suggest you check the settings for each subgrids if they are connected properly. While configuring the quick view form, you need to select the lookup and then the form to display.

Just encountered the same!

Combining a subgrid control and a quick view control (which itself contains a subgrid) on the same tab of a form caused the same issue for me (the subgrid control ended up showing the subgrid from the quick view).

It looked fine on the form designer, but once published and viewed in the app, I ended up seeing this bug.

Ended up putting my quick view control (with subgrid) on a separate tab of the form and that resolved the issue as a workaround, but I'd prefer to have them able to be on the same tab of a form from a UX perspective.

Thanks for posting this!  I'm going to log a case with Support (not sure if you submitted one, but figured it might help to have another one logged too).

I had the same issue where having subgrids within a QuickView Form was messing with other subgrids on the form. I removed the QV and the issues resolved.

I see a similar issue. I have a quick view of a contact record. My main form (an "update contact request" entity) has sub grid  pointing to a related entity (some reference data that we want to apply in a N:N relationship to the linked or to be created contact record).

The contact record is also related to the reference data - shown in the quick view - but initially has no related records as the purpose of the request entity is to capture the refence data records that should be applied to the contact record (processing is performed later in a plugin).

Initially all works fine. However, once I process the record (apply the required relationships between the reference data and the contact record displayed in the quick view) - the first sub grid crashes in the  request form. Its entirely reproducible - there is a JavaScript error in the Microsoft code. A have a copy of the form without the quick view and the initial sub grids work fine there, likewise if I delete the contact reference in the request from.
