Refresh all formulas result of a form

Hi All,

I have created an app and I would like to refresh all the formulas I have in a form.

Is it possible to have a button and click it once to refresh the results of all the formulas in a form?

I specifically would like to automatically update the count of days and weeks that an item in a form has been opened.

Currently I would need to open/edit the form for the formula to apply but I want it to automatically update in one click or whenever I open the app. I hope someone could help me on this. Thank you.

by the way this is the formula i have to count the days that the item has been opened:

1+ RoundDown(DateDiff(ThisItem.'Role Creation / Received Date', Today()) / 7, 0) * 5 +
Mod(5 + Weekday(Today()) - Weekday(ThisItem.'Role Creation / Received Date'),5)

I dont have any issue on the formula, I just need the result to automatically update. Thank you.

Hi @TrixSese,

I expect the following: because the Form references ThisItem, you will have to reopen the Form after saving before the calculations are updated. Instead of using ThisItem.'Role Creation / Received Date' reference the DatePicker control linked to that field (DatePickerName.SelectedDate).

When the user selects another date in the DatePicker control, your formula output will automatically update.

Thank you for your response, appreciate it. I am not sure if I got it right. I tried using the below formula and I am having the same issue. I still have to reopen the form for the calculation to apply. I also want to add up that the dates are already there even before I add the formula

With the code above the count will change once the user manually changes the DatePicker selection.

I may have misunderstood the requirement. When should the count update exactly?

Is it possible for it to update automatically? Or if I could add a 1 click button to my gallery screen to have all the items' count field in the form update? It is to count the days from creation date to today's date, so it has to be updated every day.

Hi @TrixSese,

Ok I understand. You would like this field to be calculated on the spot depending on the current time.

Unfortunately storing it hardcoded in a field will not result in the functionality that you would like.

In Dataverse you could leverage Calculated Columns to achieve this which calculates a formula on load time.

In case the user only needs to visualize this data in the app and storing the value behind the scenes is not important. I would actually suggest displaying the value as a label (in e.g. a custom datacard) that is not linked to a column within the datasource. When opening the screen, the PowerFx would show the correct date.
